  • Patent number: 5996953
Abstract: A mounting assembly for mobile electronic equipment modules includes a pair of attachment legs that are adapted to engage the carpet of a vehicle compartment and extend through mounting apertures formed in the equipment module. A pair of retainers serves to retain the module in place on the attachment legs. The attachment legs include carpet engagement portions that extend through the vehicle carpet and remain underneath the carpet base, and support portions that extend up from the attachment legs to provide a support for the equipment module. The support portion extend through apertures formed in the module and receive retainers that secure the module to the attachment leg support portions.

  • Patent number: 5884195
Abstract: A grounding assembly is provided for a cellular telephone and is integrated into a battery modules for the cellular telephone. The assembly permits a user to manually access the manual test pin of the telephone body portion from the exterior without necessitating removal of the battery module from the cellular telephone body portion. The grounding assembly provides a means for contacting the manual test pin by grounding it to the battery by way of a plunger pin, which after contacting the manual test pin, switches the operation of the cellular telephone into a test mode for reading or programming the parameters in its number assignment module ("NAM").

  • Patent number: 5448814
Abstract: A hand tool for facilitating removal of adhesively mounted objects, and in particular, cellular telephone antennas includes an engagement head and a shank portion extending away from the head and terminating in a handle. The handle is offset from the engagement head both vertically and horizontally such that when the tool is applied to an antenna module, the handle is oriented in a generally horizontal plane and the user's hand is set into a preselected orientation. Rotation of the wrist applied a twisting force to the module, resulting in a shear of the adhesive from torsion.

  • Patent number: 5099251
Abstract: A mobile telephone antenna mounting assembly has a base member which is adhered to an exterior surface of an automobile includes two opposing sidewalls. A channel is defined between the opposing sidewalls which receives an antenna body therein. An opening extends along an axis through the opposing sidewalls and the antenna body. A mounting screw extends through the opening and engages at one end thereof, a nut recessed in one sidewall which nut is prevented from rotation when threadedly engaged by the mounting screw while the screw engages at the opposite end, a washer having a generally frusto-conical configuration which washer engages both the mounting screw head and an inner engagement surface of one of the sidewalls.

  • Patent number: 4931805
Abstract: A window-mounted cellular mobile telephone antenna and method of installation includes an outside coupling module for mounting on the outside surface of a vehicle window in registration with an inside coupling module mounted on the inside surface of the window. The outer coupling module includes a metallic base having a contoured portion for pivotally mounting a vertical radiating element, and a generally flat window engaging portion for engaging the window glass. A peripheral channel formed on the engaging portion defines a central engaging surface. An adhesive layer applied to the engaging surface engages the surface of the glass when the base is positioned on the glass for use. A bead of silicone adhesive in the channel expands against the glass to protect the adhesive layer from exposure to water and contaminants.
