  • Patent number: 5540004
Abstract: An apparatus for removing ice and snow from a surface consisting of a support frame and a elongate member rotatably mounted on the support frame. The elongate member has a first end and a second end. A plurality of flexible arms extend from the elongate member in a substantially helical pattern. Upon rotation of the elongate member the arms violently strike a ground surface to dislodge packed snow and ice which is then carried by the helical pattern of the arms from the first end of the elongate member toward the second end.

  • Patent number: 5435267
Abstract: An improved gravity flow livestock feeder broadly includes a hopper, a base, an feeder assembly and a deflector. The feeder assembly includes an upright member and a plurality of arms pivotally and independently connected to the lower end of the upright member. Each arm extends radially from the upright member. The deflector is disposed within the interior of the hopper and is pivotally connected to the upper end of the upright member. The feeding actions of an animal against an arm facilitates the movement of feed to an area accessible to the feeding animal.

  • Patent number: 5396816
Abstract: A single powered dual movement motion device preferably mounted on the distal end of a boom and connected to a platform adapted to carry a wheel chair of a handicapped person. The motion device has a base frame that mounts it on the boom. A first extension frame is pivotally connected to the base frame and a second extension frame is hingedly connected to the first extension frame. A reversible rotatable drive assembly is fixed to the base frame and is driven by a reversible power source. The reversible rotatable drive assembly includes a release and lock means whereby an arcuate path will be given to an extremity of the second extension frame in the release mode and a straight forward path in the locked mode. A reversal of the power source will reverse the sequence of events.

  • Patent number: 5271707
Abstract: An aerial lift platform apparatus preferably mounted on a mobile vehicle which supports and transports the apparatus. The apparatus base is mounted on the vehicle, a mast of the apparatus is mounted on the base and houses a basically vertical mast hydraulic cylinder, the mast is also rotatable about the mast vertical axis by a second hydraulic cylinder. Mounted on the mast is a boom whose distal end is connected to a platform adapted to carry a wheelchair of a handicapped person. The boom's distal end is elevated by an extension of the mast hydraulic cylinder which has one end attached to the base and another end to the boom. A levelling link is moveably located internally of the boom and has a proximal end mounted on the mast and a distal end connected to the platform. The platform is connected to the boom and levelling link by a reversible hydraulic motor driven pivoted extension structure and a reversible hydraulic motor driven pivot hinge between the extension structure and the platform.

  • Patent number: 5005343
Abstract: A flexible header for a combine or swather includes a pair of wing sections which can flex relative to a central section. Each wing section carries a draper canvas for transporting a cut crop inwardly toward the central section. Beneath the inner ends of the drapers is mounted a further draper for transporting the crop rearwardly through an opening in the central frame into the feeder housing of the combine. Above the central draper is mounted a roller member having a central paddle portion and auger portions outside of the central portion for confining and directing the crop in cooperation with the central draper into the feeder housing. The pivot axis of each wing portion is inclined inwardly and forwardly so that the axes intersect at the sickle knife. This arrangement allows the manufacture of a large width flexible combine header.

  • Patent number: 4956966
Abstract: A header frame for a combine includes a mounting frame which is attached to the front end of the feeder housing of the combine and a header frame. The header frame is mounted on the mounting frame by suitable linkage so that it can lift in a vertical direction and also can twist about an axis parallel to the forward direction of the combine to allow the header frame to follow ground contours. A flexible pan is connected between the header frame and the mounting frame to define a lower surface of the header immediately in front of the mouth of the feeder housing with the pan having a forward edge attached to the header frame and a rearward edge attached to the mounting frame with the movement therebetween being accommodated by flexing or sliding of one mounting of the pan. In one arrangement of the header, the conventional auger is replaced by two side drapers and a feed draper with the feed draper being mounted in a manner which allows limited vertical movement away from the pan.

  • Patent number: 4662161
Abstract: A pull type swather or windrower which can be used either singly or in a duplex or tandem arrangement can be adjusted from a working position to a transport position by pivoting the hitch through 90.degree. and by unlocking the wheels so they turn through 90.degree. to move the swather at right angles to its working direction. The swather is mounted on two wheels inwardly of the ends of the swather and rearwardly of the drapers with the wheel remote from the hitch movable to a position forwardly of its working position so as to lie under the drapers and to balance the center of gravity so that the swather can be supported solely by the two wheels in the transport position. A rear or duplex swather can be attached to the front swather by a duplex hitch which provides steering movements of the rear swather in a direction opposite to the steering movements of the front swather so that the former properly tracks the latter in echelon relationship.
