  • Patent number: 5372063
Abstract: A body member of a press has a peripheral imperforate side wall and an imperforate end wall, the end opposite from the imperforate wall being open. The press has a lid-engaging portion capable of abutting a severed but remaining lid of a can and utilizing the lid as a pressing plate to press liquid from food in the can upon relative forced telescoping movement of the body member and the can. The lid engaging member supports a magnet capable of magnetically attracting the lid and pulling the lid out of the can upon completion of the pressing operation. The magnet can also serve to attach the press to a metal surface. The can engaging area of the press is shaped to fit the contour of the lid of a can.

  • Patent number: 4836615
Abstract: A demountable disc cover for spoke wheels and the like. The cover is fabricated of a woven fabric impervious to the passage of air which fits over a removable hoop held inside of and adjacent to the wheel rim. The cover is fabricated with a peripheral casing having a stretch cord therein, which performs the function of holding the cover tautly on the hoop over the spoke. A multiplicity of peripheral clips holds the cover in place, each clip fitting snugly over a spoke nipple and having a gripper thereon oriented orthogonal to the spoke, which gripper fits over the edge of the hoop.

  • Patent number: 4317441
Abstract: A compact broiler for cooking slabs of meat includes generally vertical infrared and preferably gas fired heating elements spaced apart within a housing to define a cooking zone between them. A mouth through the upper surface of the housing provides access to the cooking zone. A special rack suspends a slab of meat within the cooking zone when in one position and when turned 180.degree. to another position suspends the meat in a warming zone above the mouth. The rack retaining mechanism cooperates with the rack to both center the meat within the cooking zone and retain the rack in place. The housing also defines a dripping collecting zone below the heating zone into which a gutter is positioned for capturing drippings from the meat. A liner including a heat shield positioned above the gutter and generally within the dripping collecting zone deflects heat from the heating members away from the gutter to prevent burning of drippings therein.
