  • Publication number: 20100291142
Abstract: The present invention relates to recombinant feline herpes virus type 1 (FHV-1) nucleic acids and proteins. In particular the present invention provides compositions comprising the full length FHV-1 genome or portions thereof, and infectious FHV-1 virions produced therefrom. The FHV-1 compositions are suitable for use in inducing an immune response in inoculated subjects and for use in identifying agents that attenuate FHV-1 infection.

  • Publication number: 20050239057
Abstract: The present invention provides a multiplex RT-PCR/PCR method, which enables in a single assay the simultaneous detection of any combination of bovine rotavirus, bovine coronavirus, Cryptosporidium parvum, and optionally, Escherichia coli strains producing K99 pili or heat-stable enterotoxin STa.

  • Publication number: 20050218189
Abstract: A counterweight assembly is especially adapted for mounting to a spinner tool allowing a workpiece to be balanced when rotated during welding or other operations. The counterweight assembly has an adjustable counterweight to provide a necessary amount of counterbalance force depending upon the particular size and configuration of the workpiece. The spinner tool is adapted to secure various diameters of pipe as well as pipe flanges. The spinner tool can be mounted within a portable vise that can be used directly at a work site.

  • Publication number: 20050172769
Abstract: A portable vise and saw combination includes a vise element having three attachment points. One attachment point is used to attach the vise to an existing support such as an existing horizontal rail, and another attachment point allows a saw to be mounted to the vise. A workpiece is mounted in the third attachment point. The saw is aligned with the workpiece so that the workpiece may be selectively cut at a desired length and angle. A measuring apparatus is also incorporated within the vise to allow an operator to set the saw to cut successive workpieces at the same lengths without having to remeasure each workpiece.

  • Publication number: 20050173853
Abstract: A portable vise includes three attachment points enabling the vise to be mounted in either a horizontal or vertical orientation, and also to allow the vise to secure one or more workpieces in a horizontal or vertical orientation. Clamps are mounted over the attachment points to mount the vise and to secure one or more of the workpieces. The clamps each include a yoke that is placed between a set screw and a jaw assembly. The yoke enables each jaw assembly to make self aligning contact for mounting the vise and for securing the workpieces.

  • Patent number: 5989805
Abstract: Method of propagating viruses that replicate in embryonated eggs or in primary cultures of chicken embryo cells on an immortal, virus-free, contact-inhibited, and non-oncogenic chicken embryo cell line. The method supports replication of avian viruses of the Birnaviridae, Coronaviridae, Herpesviridae, Orthomyxoviridae, Paramyxoviridae, Picornaviridae, Polyomaviridae, Poxviridae, and Reoviridae families. The immortal cell line of the present invention supports replication of swine influenza virus, for instance. The cell line is useful for virus isolation diagnostic assays and for propagating virus suitable for live or killed vaccines.
