  • Patent number: 11718296
Abstract: Systems and methods are provide for highway vehicle platoon maintenance management. Commercial highway vehicle platoon maintenance management is provided where it is desirable to determine traffic conditions around vehicles of the platoon, to share the determined traffic conditions with the other vehicles of the platoon, and to determine and share adaptive cruise control (ACC) parameters between the platooning vehicles for adjusting platoon inter-vehicle following distances based on the determined traffic conditions.

  • Publication number: 20210171033
Abstract: A controller and method for activating adaptive cruise control systems are presented. The controller includes an input for receiving a speed of the host vehicle and a processor having control logic. The control logic determines the system is inactive, determines if the vehicle speed is at or above a minimum speed, determines if a predetermined time has passed and activates adaptive cruise control without a driver intervention.

  • Publication number: 20200290639
Abstract: A method for providing user-specific driver assistance includes storing, in a vehicle, warning threshold preset values used to provide driver assistance warnings, and identifying a driver of the vehicle based on driver identification information. Sensors provide driver behavior data for the identified driver, which is then compared to desired driver behavior data. A modified warning value specific to the identified driver is then determined based at least in part on a result of the comparison. One or more of the plurality of warning threshold preset values may be updated based on the modified warning value, and a driver assistance warning may be provided to the identified driver in accordance with the updated one or more of the plurality of warning threshold preset values.
