  • Publication number: 20230275959
Abstract: A method for load balancing application requests across a multi-cluster container orchestration system includes receiving a load-balancing configuration for a multi-cluster service managing access to a set of destination clusters hosting a software application deployed by a user. The multi-cluster service uses the load-balancing configuration to load balance application level traffic across the set of destination clusters. Each destination cluster includes at least one container executing the software application and a respective geographical region. The method also includes receiving an application level request directed toward the software application hosted across the destination clusters. The application level request is received from a client and includes a host name and a geographical location associated with the client. The method also includes routing the request to one of the clusters based on the geographical location of the request and the respective geographical locations of the clusters.

  • Patent number: 7559556
Abstract: An embodiment provides a MLS gasket that includes a metal layer having an external periphery, an upper surface generally defining a first plane, and a lower surface generally defining a second plane. The first and second planes define a layer thickness therebetween. At least one cylinder aperture is formed in the metal layer. The metal layer includes a stopper portion formed adjacent at least a portion of the external periphery. The stopper portion is formed such that at least a portion of the stopper portion extends above the first plane. At least a portion of the stopper portion extends below the second plane. An average thickness of the stopper portion is less than the layer thickness. The gasket also includes a first sealing layer adjacent the metal layer. The first sealing layer includes a first bead portion. Compression of the first bead portion is selectively limited by the stopper portion.

  • Patent number: 7140617
Abstract: A seal of an annular shape comprising a top bead and a side bead that are tilted inwardly at predetermined angles. The top bead and side bead are integrally formed such that a force exerted on the side bead allows the side bead to cooperate with the top bead to properly seal an intake pipe within a cylinder head. This abstract submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

  • Publication number: 20040201181
Abstract: A seal for a flange includes two separate sealing lips to seal the interfaces between the flange and the intake manifold and the cylinder head. One lip seals against the head surface when the flange is bolted to the cylinder head. The other lip seals around the intake manifold when the intake manifold, such as a tubular intake manifold, is inserted into the flange. The flange seal is made of elastomeric material, such as rubber, and is integrally bonded to the flange made of metal, such as steel or aluminum, during the molding process to form a flange seal having a one-piece construction. The flange seal also includes a gap between one of the sealing lips and an outer surface of the flange that provides a space for the displaced rubber to flow when compressed by the cylinder head. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure.
