    Abstract: A video user's viewing behavior with respect to video program selection is monitored. The monitored behavior is analyzed and a suitable advertising format for display that is related to the monitored viewing behavior is identified. Monitoring, for example, can include detecting channel surfing of available viewing channels, accessing and surfing through programming schedules, fast forwarding or reversing through a recorded program, and pausing display of a program.
