  • Patent number: 6240757
Abstract: A process for rolling a metal strip, in particular a steel strip, using a cold-rolling train, which is followed by an annealing section and a temper pass section, the outflow thickness, i.e., the setpoint thickness of the metal strip at the outflow from the cold-rolling train being determined as a function of the setpoint hardness and the setpoint thickness of the metal strip at the outflow from the temper pass section.

  • Patent number: 6220068
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for reducing the edge drop of a rolled strip in a roll train having one or more roll stands, at least one roll stand having actuators for reducing the edge drop, which are set as a function of the edge drop of the rolled strip running out of the roll stand and, if appropriate, of the edge drop of the rolled strip running into the roll stand, the edge drop being measured with at least one edge drop measuring device, and the values of the edge drop of the rolled strip being determined using a roll gap model, in order to set the actuators for reducing the edge drop at those points on the rolled strip at which the edge drop is not measured.

  • Patent number: 5873277
Abstract: The invention relates to a control process for a roll stand consisting of a pair of work rolls, a pair of backup rolls, and optionally a pair of intermediary rolls. The controls for a rolling force, a deflecting force, and optionally a roll shift are given specified values, which are obtained on-line in a roll stand model with a roll deflection model. According to the invention, relationships between the rolling force, the deflecting force, and the roll shift, on the one hand, and a corresponding roll gap variation on the other hand are determined on line in the roll deflection model at interpolation points. These relationships are used to calculate at the interpolation points set points for the rolling force, the deflecting force, and the roll shift.
