  • Patent number: 4424674
Abstract: A pressure die casting machine having a working cylinder enclosing a working piston adjacent a multiplier cylinder having a multiplier piston slideably mounted therein. The working chamber intermediate the working piston and the multiplier piston is connected to a pressure medium supply line which includes a check valve. The check valve is separated from the pistons and is attached on the outside of the working cylinder and multiplier cylinder so that the pistons are not weakened and the valve is made accessible for maintenance. The supply of pressure medium to the pressure chamber is controlled by a valve arrangement actuable independently of the check valve.

  • Patent number: 4239179
Abstract: In a quantity control valve for controlling the quantity of a pressure medium, the valve spindle being axially movably guided in a bush fixedly disposed in a housing and coacting with a nut included in the gear train, the valve spindle also being connected to a position piston slidably adjustable within a sleeve having a control opening, the sleeve being rigidly attached to a valve closure, a compression spring bearing on one side against the housing and on the other side against the valve closure, the valve closure being stepped within the range of its valve seat in defining an annular chamber, a radial connection leading to a central conduit in the valve closure and opening out into a chamber receiving a position piston, a non-return valve in the duct communicating with the control opening, and a pressure medium supply duct connected to the annular chamber about the valve seat.

  • Patent number: 4020862
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the volume and pressure of a pressure medium in a die-casting machine has an inlet, to which high pressure, high volume flow fluid can be supplied, and an outlet to a point of use. For controlling volume flow, a plurality of diaphragms are arranged in parallel between the lines. Each has a volume actuating valve associated therewith. Actuation of these valves can allow a selected number of the diaphragms to be connected across the line to give a range of possible volume flow at a given pressure. For pressure control, a line leads from the inlet line to a plurality of series mounted pressure responsive valves, each associated with a pressure actuating valve, which can be actuated to selectively cause any one of a range of pressures to prevail in the line and in the outlet line. The selected pressure is also lead to a by-pass valve connected to the inlet, so that pressure greater than the selected pressure is diverted from the inlet line.
