  • Patent number: 5927333
Abstract: A mixer valve (10) includes cartridge (30) that houses a ball valve element (24). The cartridge includes a lower housing member (32) affixed to an upper housing member (34) by a pin (66) which also engages the ball valve (24) to constrain its motion in two independent directions.

  • Patent number: 5228625
Abstract: In a sprinkler head comprising a sprinkler body (1) and a sprinkler base (4), the nozzle wall of the sprinkler base (4) is the fixed supporting plate (8) of a rubber-elastic nozzle plate (11) resting on it. The nozzle plate (11) comprises a plurality of elastic nozzle projections (12) formed on it which engage in receiving bore holes (9) of the supporting plate (8). The axial length of the elastic nozzle projections (12) in relation to that of the receiving bore holes (9) is such that their elastically deformable ends always project beyond the outer surface (14) of the supporting plate (8). Furring of the nozzle projections can easily be removed by exerting a slight external force on the elastically deformable ends. Nevertheless, the spray-forming outlet ends of the nozzle projections (12) are so thick-walled and of such material quality that they withstand ordinary water pressures and therefore have good spray guidance properties.

  • Patent number: 5058860
Abstract: A pair of plates of a hard material (a socalled ceramic material or the like), intended to form the members for flow control of a faucet of the socalled screw type, and having an extended control field, wherein at least one of the sides which define the passage opening of at least one of the plates of the pair has substantially the shape of an arc of linear spiral (Archimedes' spiral), and the end portion having the smaller width of the passage opening defined by this arc of linear spiral is located near the plate periphery. The stated shape like an arc of linear spiral may be chosen for one side of the passage opening of one plate only, or even for one side of the passage openings of both plates, but in this latter case it is needed that the two spirals have a different slope. By means of this pair of plates it is possible to obtain control angles extending in the field from 1/2 turn and 3/4 of a turn, for example angles of 230.degree. or 270.degree..

  • Patent number: 5018553
Abstract: A mixer valve with a ball-type valving member provided with a control member for being displaced in rotation around two different axes, and provided with openings cooperating with inlet openings for hot and cold water, having tubular gaskets of elastomeric material, and with outlet openings for mixed water, provided in a partially spherical seat of a fixed member, in order to regulate the mixing ratio between hot and cold water and the flow of delivered mixed water, wherein there are provided two inlet openings with tubular gaskets for an incoming flow (of cold or hot water), and one inlet opening with tubular gasket for the other incoming flow. These three inlet openings provided with tubular gaskets are at least approximately aligned along a circle within the partially spherical seat of the fixed member of the valve.

  • Patent number: 4676270
Abstract: A mixing valve for a faucet includes a cartridge and a chamber of a body and a reversing piston within a bore positioned below the chamber. The piston has passageways therethrough in communication with the inlets of the body and also in communication with respective entrances of the cartridge. As the piston is rotated 180.degree. from its initial position, the passageways connect the opposite inlets with the respective entrances in the cartridge. As such operation of the handle can always be conventional where movement of the handle to the right provides cold water and to the left provides hot water irrespective as to which inlets in the body provide the hot and cold water.
