    Abstract: A method and apparatus for separating particles from an inlet airflow of a turbine engine has a centerbody with a radially outer scavenge conduit. The inlet airflow has entrained particulate matter, which can impact an impact surface defining part of the centerbody. The impact surface can be disposed at an angle or have a low coefficient of restitution to reduce the velocity of the incoming particulate matter. The particulate matter is radially diverted radially outward through the scavenge conduit, unable to make a turn defined by the shape of the centerbody.

In some embodiments, the method comprises, at a system having a memory and one or more processor for processing and displaying images of the biological structure, computationally processing at least a T1 weighted magnetic resonance image of the structure and a T2 weighted magnetic resonance image of the structure in order to analyze at least a portion of the structure of the nervous system using a plurality of stored tissue classifier elements to determine if the portion of the structure correlates with the presence of myelin. Such methods are useful for the detection of diseases associated with demyelination.

    Abstract: All functions of this perforated paper towel and toilet tissue dispenser can be performed single handedly, making this invention ideally suited for the disabled, the elderly and children, allowing the user to remove the desired amount of sheets, while having the other hand encumbered. This is accomplished through unrolling and tearing the desired number of sheets, with a cross handed motion, while leaving the leading edge of the next sheet of paper exposed. The tearing action activates the gripper bar, which in turn stops the paper roll, which eliminates unraveling and is designed to function throughout the entire length of any size paper roll. The gripper bar design functions when tearing the paper in a horizontal direction, a straight downward direction, or anywhere in between. The dispenser's support spindle fits into the keyways with opposing locators, and incorporates opposing handles, allowing single handed exchange of any empty to a new roll.

    Abstract: A method of and apparatus for applying a tension force to a strapping band, and then securing the band with a seal, in order to secure a plurality of goods together, or to secure a package for shipping. The apparatus allows the user to feed the strapping band through the machine so that both ends of the band are secured in a rotating windlass. The windlass is then rotated to apply an equalized tension force to the band. The tension force is divided by the apparatus pulling both ends of the band simultaneously, the resultant forward force on the apparatus therefore being zero. After each banding operation, a return mechanism automatically positions the windlass in an optimum orientation for inserting the band for a successive banding operation.

    Abstract: PCA apparatus has a container with a movable piston dividing the container into a lower chamber for medication liquid and an upper, air-filled chamber. A manually-actuated air pump is connected to the upper chamber so that air can be supplied to the upper chamber to displace the piston and discharge the liquid through a catheter. The air pump has a cylinder containing a plunger with a capillary inlet, to limit the rate at which air can flow into the cylinder and hence be pumped to the upper chamber. The lower chamber is filled through a removable inlet spike connector by pulling up the piston with an actuating rod projecting from the upper end of the container. The rod is frangible so that it can be removed after filling the lower chamber.
