  • Publication number: 20050017029
Abstract: This invention relates to a novel device for small, extremely flexible thin film plastic bags having short flat dispenser outlets, thereby making it possible to easily grasp and squeeze it open while shearing off a tack-welded sealed outlet, and when up-ended, can, for some easy-flow products, regulate its flow; all done using only one hand; said device may be inserted within, and bonded therein to the thin film chamber walls of plastic bags having conventional simple reclosable outlets; or incorporated during the original fabrication of the thin film plastic bag, particularly those having “Zip-Loc” or equal interlocking closure joints, with the usual alignment problems; said simple device consists of a pair of nested flexible and resilient plastic curved quadrant clamps with novel guide mouth attachments which makes it possible to squeeze the thin gauge film chamber walls manually for opening and for dispensing when up-ended, which upon release of the squeeze effort, automatically self closes to form a dust

  • Publication number: 20040007596
Abstract: A manually operated easy to open, squeeze-to-open while lifting for pouring, self-closing spillage-free dispenser for standard gable-top milk cartons, said dispenser made from same polyethylene laminated paperboard used for making standard gable-top milk cartons formed and sealed by standard gable-top milk carton packaging machine with its clamping, compression, heating and sealing jaws, used to form and seal the original ridge line atop the roof of the gable roof portion, modified for forming and sealing the curved quadrant elongated slotted dispenser outlet, with a tamper-evident closure that can be easily removed by the tear-away indents provided.

  • Publication number: 20020088825
Abstract: This invention concentrates on making squeeze-to-open self-closing devices for small hand held plastic bags with or without reclosable closures; having bag openings limited to under 4 inches for possible grasping of opposing ends of the bag opening for squeezing, by the same hand holding said plastic bag; for bags wider than 4 inches cater-cornering the 4 inches and under said plastic bag is possible; when reclosable closures are used they can be made with a tamper evident shipping seal thereby eliminating the need for conventional off-set lip and ridges made for gripping and easier opening, along with the usual single or double track seals at the bag outlet top portion. A small hand held pill box or container is offered for fabrication; using only two separate male and female ribbons extruded from conventional extrusion profiles; cut to predetermined lengths; superimposed and aligned for seal welding respective edges for shaping a cylindrical container bottom for up-right standing.

  • Patent number: 4917267
Abstract: The invention pertains to a thermoplastic squeezable self-closing valve, capable of discharging, at requlated flow rates, liquids, pastes and solids such as powder, pills capsules and the like. This novel valve can be formed as an integral part of the container; or separately for attachment to other than flexible plastic containers; or thermoformed and heat sealed with a separable lip seal shipping tab after the container filling operation, thereby eliminating easily removable screwed bottle caps and the like for tamper protection of container contents. Other novel valve features includes methods, for drip prevention; establishing a liquid spray; forming a built-in clip lip seal; forming the squeezable valve as part of the hollow cored lifting handle used in present plastic milk and juice containers.
