  • Patent number: 6236176
Abstract: There is a method for controlling the movement of electrically operated assemblies, more particularly of window lifters, sliding roofs or the like in motor vehicles. The assembly has a setting device is connected to a drive device. At least in one partial area of the displacement path, the displacement force is restricted to a predetermined maximum value. A parameter is proportional to the displacement force of the electrically operated assembly. Upon reaching a boundary value corresponding to the maximum value of the displacement force over a predetermined time span, the parameter is regulated to a value corresponding to this boundary value.

  • Patent number: 6198175
Abstract: A switching device and process for external force-actuated driving devices in a motor vehicle, especially windows and sliding roofs. Depending on the dynamics and/or degree of displacement of an actuating component, control signals are generated which code the displacement speed and travel, the position, the displacement duration and/or direction of the item to be displaced. The actuating component is preferably an unrestrictedly rotatable component which, during its rotation, generates control signals for an electronic control unit. The device and process give a user the greatest possible control over the displacement of the component.

  • Patent number: 6166508
Abstract: A method for controlling a movement of a window pane of a motor vehicle door immediately after the lowering of the window pane, until there is compensation of the system deficiency of the displacement mechanism caused by the displacement of the window pane into the lowering direction of movement. With a short stroke lowering of the upper edge of a free-standing frameless window pane from a keyed sealing engagement on the bodywork side, a signal is generated through opening of the door and passed to an electronics evaluation unit whereupon the drive of the window lifter is activated in the lowering direction until the window pane has moved from its closed position into a predetermined partially opened position. After closing the vehicle door, as a result of the generation of a further signal, the lowered window pane is automatically closed again.

  • Patent number: 6114822
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for contactless approach of a lower stop position of a motor vehicle window pane operated by extraneous force using a sensor device which during lowering of the window pane generates path-dependent signals and forwards them to an electronic evaluation unit in which the sensor signals are counted. During two separate phases (A) and (B) system deficiencies of a window raising mechanism are compensated and the pane is lowered. On reaching a certain counting state which lies in front of the position of the fixed contactless stop, a drive is switched off. The first phase (A) and the second phase (B) of the adjustment movement of the drive are separated by a boundary value (2) which reflects a system state of window winding raising mechanism so that the sensor signals of the first phase (A) can be associated with compensating cable slack and the sensor signals of the second phase (B) can be associated with the actual movement of the window.

  • Patent number: 5949315
Abstract: A polarized relay with an electromagnet which consists of an exciter coil and a coil core mounted in the exciter coil. On each of two end sides of the electromagnet is a permanent magnet displaceable along its magnetic axis. The same pole, for example, the north pole (N), of each of the two permanent magnets face the end sides of the electromagnet. The relay is capable of tri-stable behavior, that is, it can switch between three states, with only one exciter coil. Preferably, the tri-stable function of the relay controls a commutator motor between "rest," "clockwise running," and "counter-clockwise running" states.

  • Patent number: 5780988
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for detecting the position, direction of rotation and rotational speed of a rotatably seated part, which are employed, for example, in particular in externally-operated locking parts of motor vehicles (e.g., with an electric window opener with protection against jamming). The method allows a reduction in the number of components and installation space. The method of the present invention has the feature that control commands and the state of the motor are provided to a logical evaluation device. Either the high and low edges of the digitized signal, or one of the high or low edges, together with the signal level at the time of motor start or reversal of the direction of rotation of the motor are assigned to the one or the other direction of movement (direction of rotation).

  • Patent number: 5523679
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and apparatus for detecting the speed and rotary direction of a rotary drive by using a signal-transmitting or signal-changing element which is connected rotationally secured to the rotary drive. According to the invention, during rotation of the signal-transmitting or signal-changing element a rotary direction coded signal is produced which is detected by a sensor and which is supplied to an electronic evaluator unit. The aim of the invention is to provide a process and device for detecting the speed and rotary direction of a rotary drive which manages with one sensor unit for a high analysis of the speed and rotary direction.

  • Patent number: 5432421
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for detecting the position and direction of movement and for detecting the dynamic characteristic values of remote-controlled displacements of an adjustable object. According to the invention a signal is detected and evaluated which is solely made up of a system-characteristic signal or the overlapping of several system-characteristic signals. The aim is to achieve a high dissolution of the aforesaid values which are to be detected without using additional sensor or transmitter elements whilst incurring only small production costs.
