    Abstract: In one embodiment the semiconductor laser comprises a carrier and an edge-emitting laser diode which is mounted on the carrier and which comprises an active zone for generating a laser radiation and a facet with a radiation exit region. The semiconductor laser further comprises a protective cover, preferably a lens for collimation of the laser radiation. The protective cover is fastened to the facet and to a side surface of the carrier by means of an adhesive. A mean distance between a light entrance side of the protective cover and the facet is at most 60 ?m. The semiconductor laser is configured to be operated in a normal atmosphere without additional gas-tight encapsulation.

    Abstract: A vapor-deposition device for coating two-dimensional substrates with an organic material. The substrates can be positioned within a vacuum chamber above a process chamber or can be moved past the latter by a transport device. A vaporizer for an organic coating material is arranged within the process chamber and opposite the substrates. The process chamber is delimited laterally by shields which, opposite the substrates, extend as far as a feed device for the coating material. The vaporizer includes the feed device for the coating material and radiant heaters underneath the same. This arrangement can achieve, with a high vaporization rate, good homogeneity of the layer thickness and of the layer stoichiometry.

    Abstract: A parking lock for an automatic transmission of a motor vehicle is provided, wherein the automatic transmission has an actuator which can disengage a locking element in the automatic transmission, the locking element is held in a locked position by spring force, and a locking assembly (1) is provided which is connected via an actuating element (2) to the locking element and which has a knee lever (3) which can fix the actuating element (2) so as to prevent engagement of the locking element in the automatic transmission. The invention is characterized in that the knee lever (3) fixes the actuating element (2) in an overextended position, wherein a fixed counter support (4) is attached at the overextended side of the knee lever (3).

    Abstract: A cooling element for cooling the refractory lining of a metallurgical furnace. A cooling element is to be provided which prevents coolant from entering the interior of the furnace while maintaining a good cooling action. This is achieved by a cooling plate which faces the refractory lining, a heat-conducting plate which is arranged at an angle to the latter, which is fixedly connected to the cooling plate and extends out of the furnace wall. The cooling plate and the heat-conducting plate are made of solid material. A coolant channel which is fixedly connected to the heat-conducting plate is connected to a coolant input and a coolant output.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic circuit and a method for feeding power to at least one electrode of an alternating-current electric-arc furnace, particularly for melting metal. Known circuits of this type typically comprise a series connection with a transformer for providing a supply voltage for the electric-arc furnace from a power grid (1) and a AC power controller (8) connected between the transformer (6) and the electrode (11) for regulating the current through the electrode (11). According to the invention, a further development for such electronic circuits is proposed, which development has a simple design, is inexpensive and prevents overload of the AC power controller (8) even in operating modes of the electric-arc furnaces at high electrode currents. This further development provides to bypass the AC power controller with a bypass switch (9) that is opened or closed with the help of a controller as a function of the amount of current flowing through the electrode (11).

    Abstract: An electrode for electric arc furnaces, in which metallurgical processes are performed, has a current-conducting electrode core having a core end pointing in a direction of the furnace bottom in the mounted state of the electrode. An electrode armor made of an electrically conducting material is provided that is process-neutral relative to a molten mass and slag of the metallurgical processes. The electrode armor is arranged on the electrode core and the core end such that at least the electrode portion immersed into the slag or the molten mass is completely enclosed. In this way, contact between the electrode and the slag and molten mass is prevented.
