  • Patent number: 6241450
Abstract: A load supporting assembly for a trailer includes an elongated frame, a platform subassembly having a middle fixed platform section, a pair of front and rear pivotal platform sections being pivotally mounted to the middle fixed platform section and a pair of linkages movably interconnecting the front and rear pivotal platform sections such that the front and rear pivotal platform sections can pivot independently of and automatically relative to one another and to the middle fixed platform section and the frame without the need for any substantial operator intervention and in response to an operator driving a vehicle onto or from the platform assembly. The vehicle in being loaded onto the platform subassembly can push the front pivotal platform section down from the respective raised to lower position thereof without any corresponding movement of the rear pivotal platform section.

  • Patent number: 5620111
Abstract: A generator support base and storage tank assembly includes an outer support frame structure and an inner arcuate-shaped structure. The outer support frame structure is formed by a pair of substantially vertical flat end plates and a substantially horizontal flat top plate fixedly connected at opposite ends to upper ends of the vertical end plates. The inner arcuate-shaped structure underlies and is fixedly connected at its opposite upper longitudinal edges to the underside of the horizontal top plate. The inner arcuate-shaped structure also extends between and is fixedly connected at its opposite end edges to the inside of the vertical end plates. These connections of the inner arcuate-shaped structure to the outer support frame structure provides sufficient structural reinforcement and strengthening of the outer support frame structure to support the electrical generator on the horizontal flat top plate thereof.

  • Patent number: 4838753
Abstract: A lifting and towing unit mountable on a fifth wheel of a towing vehicle has an anchoring frame assembly with a king pin for coupling to the towing vehicle fifth wheel and a lifting frame assembly adapted to support a portion of a mobile load and to be releasably attached thereto and to the anchoring frame assembly in a fixed relation thereto. The unit also includes an arrangement in the form of a four-bar linkage interconnecting and mounting the lifting frame assembly rearwardly of and to the anchoring frame assembly for pivotal movement relative to the frame of the towing vehicle between lowered and raised positions.

  • Patent number: 4708358
Abstract: A recovery unit for use by one truck tractor in towing another disabled truck tractor has an anchoring frame assembly with a king pin for coupling to a fifth wheel of the towing tractor and an attaching frame assembly with a king pin for coupling to a fifth wheel of the disabled tractor. The attaching frame assembly is mounted for pivotal movement relative to the anchoring frame assembly between stored and extended conditions. Actuating cylinders and an auxiliary frame assembly are selectively operable to pivot the attaching frame assembly relative to the anchoring frame assembly between the stored and extended conditions and to pivot the attaching frame assembly to and from an erected position relative to the anchoring frame assembly once the attaching frame assembly has been first moved to its extended condition and coupled to the fifth wheel of the disabled tractor.

  • Patent number: 4627633
Abstract: A hitch uncouple detecting and signaling apparatus, being applied to a trailer hitch ball member, includes a plunger rod reciprocally mounted vertically through the ball member. The rod is longer than the ball member, allowing the rod to extend either above or below opposite upper and lower ends of the ball member. The rod is composed of electrically nonconductive material capable of being trimmed to a length which will exceed the ball member height at least by a desired amount. An electrical circuit adapted for connection to a source of electrical power includes an operator signaling device and a pair of contacts. One contact is carried by a lower end of the rod and the other contact is defined on the lower end of the ball member, which preferably is composed of electrically conductive material.

  • Patent number: 4281950
Abstract: A transport trailer for wheelbarrows includes a longitudinal channel member for the guidance and support of a wheelbarrow wheel and is adapted to be coupled to the drawbar of a garden tractor. A rear transverse member supports the rear end of the longitudinal channel at its center and includes on its upper side and on opposite sides of the longitudinal channel laterally adjustable locking bolts for the legs of wheelbarrows having diverse distances between legs. The rear transverse member carries at its ends a pair of wheels and a ramp for the wheelbarrow is pivotally attached to the rear of the trailer and is biased by a spring to extended and folded positions.

  • Patent number: 4155678
Abstract: A low profile trailer dolly having separated rear wheels and a forward end draft tongue is adapted to be drawn by a garden tractor. The trailer dolly has a pivoted ramp member at its transverse center upon which the wheelbarrow wheel is rolled to elevate the wheelbarrow and nest its wheel between the ramp member and an adjustable supporting bar on the frame of the trailer dolly. Support platforms for the wheelbarrow legs and a leg locking device are provided adjacent to the inner sides of the wheels of the trailer dolly. The device enables a conventional wheelbarrow to serve the purpose of a small wagon around the home or farm.
