Abstract: A molded article, such as, a kitchen sink, a wash basin, a work surface, or the like, is produced from a composite material comprising a cured polymer binder and filler particles by molding. The surface of a visible face of the molded article, that is substantially horizontal when the molded article is in use, exhibits irregularities formed by pores. More than 30% and less than 90%, in particular more than 40% and less than 80%, and preferably more than 50% and less than 65% of the surface of the visible face is formed by pores with an average width of more than 0.1 mm and less than 1 mm, an average depth of more than 10 ?m and less than 50 ?m, and the average ratio of depth to width of the pores of more than 1:4 and less than 1:30.

Abstract: A molded plastic body is produced from a cured reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is pourable in a non-cured state and includes 50 to 90% by weight, based on the reaction mixture, of an inorganic particulate filler, a crosslinking agent, and 10 to 50% by weight, based on the reaction mixture, of a binder solution. The binder solution includes a monomer and a polymer dissolved in it. The molded plastic body is characterized in that the percentage of the crosslinking agent admixed with the binder solution is more than 10% by weight based on the percentage of the monomer in the binder solution. The invention also relates to a method for producing the molded plastic body.

Abstract: A printing machine has a plurality of rubbing rollers which are rotatable about respective rubbing axes and serve to transfer ink to a form roller. Each of these rubbing rollers is connected via a link to a respective cam follower engaging in a respective continuous circumferential cam groove in a cam that rotates about an axis parallel to the roller axis. The cam follower is normally nonrotatable about the cam but its angular position about the cam can be adjusted so as to closely control the inking characteristic of the respective rubbing roller. The angular position of each rubbing roller is determined by means of a calculator which is set up to hold a diagram on which is plotted the inking density of the material to be printed against the form roller position. A plurality of sliders each corresponding to a respective rubbing roller are independently displaceable on the support adjacent the diagram and each carry indicia indicating the inking characteristic of the respective rubbing roller.
