Abstract: An improvement in an apparatus for unreeling tapes and the like which apparatus comprises a reel plate driven by a driving motor, said driving motor having a driving shaft provided with a driven wheel, said driven wheel connected via a transmission to a driving wheel, said driving wheel connected via a shaft to said reel plate, said driven wheel connected to a clutch, said clutch connected to an actuating feeler said feeler engageable by tape unwound from a reel disposed on said reel plate whereby when said feeler is engaged said clutch is engaged to transmit rotation of said driven wheel to said driving wheel through said transmission.

Abstract: An improvement in a vehicle seat rest having a shoulder belt, one end of which is fastened to said rest, toward the top thereof, said belt running obliquely across said rest to a belt lock on the opposed side thereof, said vehicle seat rest improved in that the vehicle seat rest has a rectangular frame and a rigid cross-stay running from the region of the point to which said belt is attached at the top of said rest obliquely in the same direction as said belt to the region of said belt lock. There is also disclosed the use of a cross-stay which is incompressible under maximum loading. Also disclosed is a rectangular frame having a deformable section therein.

Abstract: An improvement in a safety system for occupants of a vehicle having a front seat which front seat has a back rest which improvement lies in a provision for an energy-absorbing holding means for the back rest which energy absorbing holding means comprises a first belt or cable attached at one end to a rearward portion of the body of said vehicle and that the other is wound about and attached to a winder disposed on the rear side of the back rest of the front seat and a second belt or cable attached to said vehicle body rearwardly of the winder and wound about and connected to a winder.

Abstract: An improvement in a grease box comprising a casing having a closed expandable hollow body, the hollow body containing an electrolytic fluid into which a galvanic element is advanceable to produce gas under pressure to effect expansion of the hollow body which, in turn, effects dispensation of a lubricant out of a chamber into the grease box, the improvement lying in the galvanic element which comprises a galvanically positive member and a galvanically negative member currently conductingly connected to one another has at least one of the members covered by a non-electrolytic non-electrolyte soluble covering material, both the positive and negative members having at least one surface uncovered and in contact with electrolyte when the galvanic element is advanced into the electrolytic fluid.

Abstract: An improvement in a safety system for a motor vehicle equipped with a driver's seat comprising a seating surface hingedly connected to a back rest which improvement comprises at least one energy absorbing damper connected to the driver's seat to absorb forces which would tend to move said driver's seat forward and to stop said forward movement, a lap belt disposable over an occupant of the seat, said lap belt connected at each end thereof to said seat, a shoulder belt connected to said seat at one end thereof and to said vehicle at the other end thereof and disposable diagonally across the body of a seat occupant.

Abstract: An improvement in a safety belt system for use in a moving vehicle comprising a lap belt and a shoulder belt interconnected and provided with at least one lock half which lock half is engaged by a reciprocating lock half, said lap belt and said shoulder belt disposed to overlie a passenger seated on a seat of said vehicle, which improvement comprises a tensioned strap connected to the vehicle at one end and to the safety belt system on the other end proximate the junction of said lap belt and said shoulder belt, said lap belt and said shoulder belt being held by said tensioned strap above the horizontal plane of said vehicle.

Abstract: A motor vehicle equipped with a front seat having a seat portion and a back portion which front seat faces a dashboard having a room for the legs and knees of a passenger therebeneath which is improved by an energy dissipating dampening means attached articulately to said seat portion and an energy dissipating dampening means attached articulately to said back portion, said energy dissipating dampening means extending longitudinally of the motor vehicle and attached at the other end to a stationary portion of the motor vehicle.

Abstract: A method for unwinding and simultaneously turning a band or the like from an unwinding reel on which it is wound, which reel has a vertical axis of rotation which comprises removing said band off of said reel in a horizontal direction, raising said band to a height above said reel in said horizontal direction and at said height turning said band about an angle of 90.degree. and moving said band, while turned, in a direction opposite to that in which it was removed from said reel; an apparatus for unwinding and simultaneously turning a band from a reel having a vertical axis so that the major surface of the band runs horizontally which apparatus comprises a reel whose axis of rotation is vertical, a band guide disposed axially above said reel and transport means disposed downstream of said guide for removing band material on said reel and causing it to move in a horizontal direction opposite to that horizontal direction in which the band is removed from said reel to said guide.
