  • Patent number: 10455225
Abstract: A multi-layer display (MLD) system may include a plurality of display screens including at least first and second display screens arranged in a substantially parallel and overlapping manner, such that an air gap exists between the first display screen and the second display screen. An opening in the enclosure may exist such that air can flow through the opening between the air gap and outside of the enclosure, and a membrane covering the opening, the membrane being porous to air and non-porous to small particulates and water.

  • Patent number: 6663113
Abstract: A method for improving the traction between a road surface and a motor vehicle having a pair of front wheels and a pair of rear wheels which engage the road, each front wheel mounted on a front axle, each rear wheel mounted on a rear axle, one of the axles being a driven axle, and a two-part undercarriage roll stabilizer system including a front and a rear undercarriage stabilizer, each the undercarriage stabilizer comprising an actuating drive operatively coupled to a the pair of wheels, and for reducing the stopping distance along the road in which the motor vehicle can be stopped. The method includes: determining a coefficient of friction between at least two wheels and the road surface; comparing the coefficients of friction; and tensioning the actuating drives diagonally, the wheel contact forces between diagonally opposite wheels and the road surface thereby being one of increased and decreased in response to the determined coefficient of friction between a wheel and the road surface.

  • Patent number: 6519523
Abstract: A method and a device in which, during the cornering of a motor vehicle, a rating factor is determined by comparing a computed lateral acceleration with a measured lateral acceleration. The lateral acceleration is measured, for example, using an acceleration sensor or corresponding yaw-rate sensor. The computed lateral acceleration is calculated via the steering angle and the road speed. A weighted rating factor generated from the difference signal is a measure of the stable or unstable driving condition of the motor vehicle. This rating factor can be either displayed or supplied to an additional control unit, for example an automatic transmission, a suspension control system or an engine management system.

  • Patent number: 6425585
Abstract: A system for roll stabilization of vehicles, in particular motor vehicles, is described, where actuating arrangements are provided. At least one sensor detects a roll parameter, and at least one slewing drive is arranged between halves of the front and/or rear chassis stabilizer, thus creating an initial stress of the stabilizer halves to reduce or suppress the rolling motion and, in the event of roll, applying a counter-torque to the vehicle body as a function of output signals of the sensor. The slewing drive is an electromechanical slewing drive and includes an arrangement for locking the swiveling of the stabilizer halves with respect to one another.

  • Patent number: 6085133
Abstract: The invention provides first signals (w.sub.z, a.sub.L, a.sub.Q, a.sub.V1, a.sub.V2, a.sub.V3) representing the vehicle movements relative to an inertial reference system (K.sub.I) for use in a chassis regulation and/or control system in a vehicle. Based on the first signals, correction values (beta.sub.S, beta.sub.S ', beta.sub.S ", alpha.sub.S, alpha.sub.S ", psi.sub.S ', psi.sub.S ") for correction of the first signals are determined in such a way that vehicle movements relative to a road surface-fixed reference system (K.sub.S) are inferred from corrected first signals (S.sub.cor i). The invention has the advantage that the inertial sensor signals disturbed by road surface inclinations are projected into the road surface plane, obtaining signals which represent the vehicle movement relative to the road surface.
