    Abstract: A large granule starch protective material for pressure sensitive microencapsulated coatings, particularly carbonless copy duplicating paper. A previously dried cereal starch selected from the group consisting of wheat, barley and rye is subjected to wet process separation to obtain a large granule starch from the starching starch, which has a characteristic particle size distribution including smaller granules ranging in size from 2 microns to about 16 microns, and a second group of larger granules, mostly ranging in size from 16 microns to about 35 microns.
