Patent number: 4934130Abstract: This invention relates to a riding mower comprising a chassis supporting a driving unit intended to propel the wheels of the mower as well as a cutting attachment, the cutting attachment being movably fastened to the chassis and by means of an operating device can be brought from a lower cutting position to an upper non-cutting position. The cutting attachment has an upper and a lower displacement area, the engagement and disengagement of the cutting attachment being effected in the upper area, whereas the cutting attachment in the lower area can be moved upwards or downwards with its parallelism with the ground preserved and can be locked against downwards movement for different cutting heights. The mower is driven while the cutting attachment is in the lower displacement area.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 1988Date of Patent: June 19, 1990Assignee: Husqvarna AktiebolagInventors: Rolf A. G. Patent number: 4809489Abstract: The invention relates to a mower comprising a chassis which is provided with an engine. The chassis consists of a front and a rear section each section being provided with a pair of wheels and the front section supports a cutting attachment. The front and at least a part of the rear section are pivotally connected to each other so that they can be turned mainly about a vertical steering axis and about a mainly horizontal swinging axis. The steering axis (29) and the swinging axix (42) is placed considerably closer to the wheel axis of the rear section (13) than the wheel axis of the front section (12) preferably so that the distance (a) between the steering axis (29) and the wheel axis of the rear section (13) is less than 1/3 of the distance (b) between the two wheel axis.Type: GrantFiled: January 14, 1988Date of Patent: March 7, 1989Assignee: Husqvarna AktiebolagInventor: Rolf A. Patent number: 4733522Abstract: This invention relates to a riding mower comprising a chassis supporting a driving unit intended to propell the wheels of the mower as well as a cutting attachment which is provided on the mower. The cutting attachment is movably fastened to the chassis and can by means of an operating device be brought from a lower cutting position to an upper non cutting position. The mower has a movable part shaped as a guard (58) which joins the chassis (10) and at least partially hides the cutting attachment (11) the guard being connected to the cutting attachment in order to follow its movement.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1986Date of Patent: March 29, 1988Assignee: Husquarna AktiebolagInventor: Rolf A. Patent number: 4491105Abstract: The invention relates to limiting of the r.p.m. on start of a power tool. At the same time the throttle control is locked in a starting position by a retaining member, a circuit in the ignition system is switched in to prevent ignition at an r.p.m. higher than the switching r.p.m. of the centrifugal clutch. The tool thus remains at low speeds during starting.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 1983Date of Patent: January 1, 1985Assignee: AB Electrolux Motor AktiebolagInventor: Rolf A. G. Johansson

Patent number: 4285309Abstract: A housing for an internal combustion engine of the type used with portable chain saws having a cavity therein for a fuel supply and another cavity for lubricating oil. The engine housing is composed of at least an upper and a lower portion which are joined along a substantially horizontal dividing plane which is substantially parallel to the bottom plate of the lower portion of the engine housing. The dividing plane intersects the crankshaft casing of the engine whereby two separate closed cavities are formed for separately storing fuel and lubricating oil for said chain saw.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 1979Date of Patent: August 25, 1981Assignee: Jonsereds AktiebolagInventor: Rolf A. Patent number: 4246701Abstract: A safety brake for a power saw comprises mainly a brake element arranged to stop the cutter chain when actuated by an actuating member acted upon by a control handle arranged to be automatically operated when the saw operator is beginning to lose control over the saw, whereby the saw will begin to swing upwards against the operator. The actuating member being arranged to form an angle against said control handle and being formed as an oblong flat structure guided to be movable between an inactive position, occupied when the saw operates normally and to an active position for effecting a brake effect on the cutter chain when the saw begins to move uncontrollable. A spring being arranged to retain the actuating member in inactive position by urging it in engagement with a latch, whereas same spring is adapted to effect a positive movement of the actuating member to its active position when it is unlatched by the manual influence from the control handle.Type: GrantFiled: May 14, 1979Date of Patent: January 27, 1981Assignee: Jonsereds ABInventor: Rolf A. Patent number: 4203505Abstract: The lifting device comprises an upright mast section, a lifting motor, a lifting arm having one end slidably mounted in the mast section and extending outwardly therefrom, the lifting arm being pivotally connected to the motor, and a lifting fork pivotally connected to the opposite free end of the lifting arm; the lifting arm and the lifting fork, in their lowest position, extend horizontally outwardly from the mast section; the arm and the fork are hingedly mounted to and vertically-displaceable along the mast section in such a manner that, when the lifting arm is first vertically displaced from the said lowest position by the lifting motor, the lifting arm pivots about its end inside the mast section to an outward and downward inclined position while the lifting fork pivots about its end adjacent the mast section to an outward and upward inclined position; the lifting motor thereafter causes the lifting arm and the lifting fork to further travel upward along the mast section in their relative inclined positType: GrantFiled: January 3, 1979Date of Patent: May 20, 1980Inventor: Rolf G. Patent number: 4123480Abstract: A control mechanism for a carburetor having a throttle valve and a choke valve each of which valves has an idling position, a cold-starting position and a full-speed position. The throttle valve is spring-biased towards its idling position and the choke valve is spring-biased towards it full-speed position. Control levers are associated with the respective valves whereby when the choke valve is moved from its idling position towards it full-speed position, a lever member associated with the choke valve engages another lever member associated with the throttle valve and the interengaging lever members hold both valves in their cold-starting position in opposition to the biasing springs.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 1977Date of Patent: October 31, 1978Assignee: Jonsereds ABInventor: Rolf A.
