  • Publication number: 20010007401
Abstract: The invention proceeds from a geared motor, specifically a windshield wiper motor for a vehicle, with an electric motor enclosed by a motor housing, with a gear located on the drive shaft of the electric motor enclosed by a gear housing and with a brush mounting plate to hold brushes, where there is at least one ground brush connected to ground. The invention is characterized by the presence of a connector element at the brush mounting plate, which has at least one brush locator to accept an electrical connection with the ground brush and at least one ground locator to accept an element connected to ground.

  • Patent number: 6199438
Abstract: In a drive mechanism for a windshield wiper, a switch disk for realizing a park position switch is supported so as to be independently rotatable relative to an output gear of a gear unit. The output gear and the switch disk are coupled with each other via a coupling device, with the coupling device acting as an engaging device carrying the switch disk along, in one direction of rotation only. In order to lower an axial dimension of the gear unit, the disk is rotatably supported on a sleeve, through which an output shaft extends so that the end of the shaft can support itself directly on a housing lid.

  • Patent number: 6140578
Abstract: A lid for a gear box of a windscreen wiper is described, which includes a metallic base plate in a plastic envelope. The plastic envelope includes printed circuit conductors connected to contact lugs provided at the bottom side of the lid. The plastic layer extends substantially across the entire outer surface of the lid covering the edges of the lid in such a way that the bottom side of the plastic layer is flush with the bottom side of the base plate. In a preferred embodiment, the bottom side of the base plate is provided wit plastic material so that tension within the plastic material which occurs during cooling after injection molding does not result in warping or bending the base plate. The present invention results in a low weight, stable lid which is capable of providing support for the driven axis.

  • Patent number: 5636431
Abstract: An electric motor used especially for driving windshield wipers of motor vehicles which includes a gear pot and a metal cover with an outside and an inside and a plastic component which is injection-molded substantially at the outside of the cover and into which at least one conductive strip punched out from a metal blank and positioned substantially at the outside is embedded. In order to achieve an exact position of the conductive strip, the conductive strip is supported by a holding device from the inside of the cover through an aperture in the cover during the injection molding process. The plastic component includes at least one recess within the aperture in the cover which is open towards the inside of the cover and extends up to the conductive strip, unless the recess is filled with material afterwards.

  • Patent number: 5194769
Abstract: An electric motor, in particular an electric small-size motor for driving windshield wipers on motor vehicles including a cup-shaped motor housing, a gear housing closing one front side of the motor housing by an end shield and having a cup-shaped section for receiving gearing elements and a cover closing the cup-shaped section of the gear housing, a holding device for an electric component positioned in a pocket of the cup-shaped section of the gear housing, in particular a holding device for at least one noise suppressor as coil, capacitor or diode, which electric component is connected in an electrically conductive way with a carbon brush arranged in the motor housing.

  • Patent number: 4484094
Abstract: This invention relates to an electric small-size motor comprising an armature, whose shaft 31, whose laminated core 25 and whose commutator 26 are secured relative to one another in an integral plastics part 28, which also insulates the laminated core 25 from the windings. In order to couple the armature with a driven shaft a receiver 32 with a cross-section deviating from the shape of a circle is provided in the shaft 31 from at least one end of the latter, into which receiver the other shaft 33 with a matching cross-section can engage.

  • Patent number: 4143488
Abstract: An automotive fuel pump having a return channel from the pressure side to the suction side thereof, comprising an opening in the housing independent of the outlet channel and opening to the inlet channel. The return channel is located in the area of the pressure side armature bearing. This construction enables elimination of gas bubble formation when the fuel being pumped is warmed.

  • Patent number: 4105906
Abstract: An armature for a pump motor, in which losses due to vorticity are substantially reduced, is disclosed. The armature includes a pair of symmetrical housing covers provided with axially extending webs. The webs overlap in nesting relationship and are provided with interlocking elements. Accordingly, the overall housing is streamlined without abrupt discontinuities which would otherwise contribute vorticity losses.
