  • Patent number: 9393074
Abstract: A sterile container system for the sterile transport and storage of medical, in particular surgical instruments and/or implants during a sterilization process, includes a closable sterile container which is formed by a lid and a trough, and at least one sieve cage which can be inserted therein, at least one fastening device being present which acts, on the one hand, on one of the medical instruments which can be inserted in the sieve cage, immobilizing the instrument on the sieve cage, and at the same time acts on the sieve cage, immobilizing the latter on the sterile container.

  • Patent number: 4656589
Abstract: A method and arrangement for controlling the operation of turbo compressors, particularly those of high capacity, utilizes flow rate and pressure values for an analog controller as well as a computing circuit to optimize the operation of the compressor. The compressor is assumed to have a characteristic basic linear blowoff line and an optimum non-linear blowoff line on its pressure/flow curve. The calculating or computing circuit computes an error signal representing a difference between the basic and optimum blowoff line at an operating pressure and applies the signal to the analog controller which controls the compressor to its optimum extent. An analog system connected to the controller maintains control at least according to the basic blowoff line if the computing circuit fails.

  • Patent number: 4523764
Abstract: A fluid sealed shaft seal has a radial sealing gap formed between radial surfaces of a first seal ring rotating with a shaft, and a second stationary seal ring biased toward the first ring and connected over a packing element to a housing. The stationary seal ring carries at least one sealing fluid supply bore and at least one sealing fluid discharge bore for supplying and discharging sealing fluid to and from the gap, to maintain a gap width. Spiral grooves are provided radially outwardly or radially inwardly of the supply and discharge bores for supplying an auxiliary sealing fluid to establish a high pressure annular area to prevent escape of the sealing fluid from the gap.

  • Patent number: 4447063
Abstract: In a shaft seal having a radial plane seal ring gap and comprising a seal ring rotating with a shaft, and a non-rotating seal ring mounted on a housing of the seal through an element which is elastically yielding in every direction and serves as a packing at the same time, the sealing fluid flows into the sealing gap through supply bores and through associated distributing pockets which are provided in the non-rotating seal ring and/or at the outer or inner circumference of the rotating seal ring. Sensors for measuring the sealing gap are provided in the non-rotating seal ring on the gap side. By means of the measured values, electromagnets disposed in the seal housing to face each other and cooperating with opposite magnetizable bodies provided in the non-rotating seal ring, are electronically controlled to maintain a predetermined constant small width of the seal gap.

  • Patent number: 4434987
Abstract: A seal device for a shaft rotating with respect to a housing comprises a rotating seal ring having opposite radial side surfaces and a circumferential end surface. The rotating seal ring is connected for co-rotation with the shaft. A non-rotating seal ring is non-rotatably connected to the housing over a yielding packing element and surrounds at least a portion of the rotating seal ring to define axial plane sealing gaps and an annular circumferential gap. Sealing fluid is pumped to each gap over bores communicating with the radial plane gaps. An electromagnet is connected to the housing and attracts or repels magnetic material in a radially extending portion of the non-rotating seal ring for regulating the width of each radial plane gap. Electromagnet is connected over a control unit to a sensor for sensing each gap, to maintain a selected gap width for each gap by regulating the activation of the electromagnet. The non-rotating seal ring is also slidable within a smooth sleeve connected to the housing.

  • Patent number: 4139328
Abstract: A method of operating turbo compressors. To prevent pumping surges, blow-off valves are opened upon reaching a blow-off line extending parallel, with respect to time, to the pumping limit. The difference between the compressor discharge pressure and flow rate and the blow-off line is non-linearly amplified in a manner related to the actual pressure and flow rate so that the amplification gain is increased if the operating point of the compressor shifts into the non-permissible range beyond the blow-off line. Special provisions are made for starting the compressor.
