  • Patent number: 4590366
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of securing simple codes (5), which are built-up of a plurality of lines, symbols or patterns, which are readable by a machine, and which codes (5) are intended to be located on documents (2), valuable documents or marked units. The invention is characterized in that in the generating or writing-down of the codes (5) one or more of said lines, symbols or patterns constituting the code (5) each are caused to transform to a line (11) or an area, which does not constitute a part of the code (5), but constitutes a part of a pattern, in order to render a falsification by altering the code after its writing-down substantially more difficult.According to a preferred embodiment the invention further is characterized in that a so-called line code (5) is generated, and in its generation or writing-down one or several of the lines associated with the code are caused to continuously or intermittently transform to a line (11) deviating from the line associated with the code.

  • Patent number: 4581482
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of signature verification and is characterized in that an electric pulse train individual for each person in question is generated in that said person is allowed to move a so-called reading pencil over a patterned background comprising dark and light portions, and that such a pulse train generated on a certain occasion is compared by means of a computer or the like to pulse trains generated earlier by said person and stored in said computer.According to a preferred embodiment, said patterned background is a line code (1) consisting of parallel dark lines (11) separated by lighter lines or areas (10).

  • Patent number: 4464448
Abstract: A black and white microfilm reproduction is made of a person or their photograph and accompanying text data. A sheet of multicolor photographic paper then is exposed to the black and white image carried on the microfilm and to another color film carrying a multicolor security pattern, mark or the like. The paper then is developed to produce the document having a black and white image of the person to be identified and accompanying text data together with overlying multicolor security pattern. The security pattern has lines that vary in color along their lengths independently of one another.
