Patent number: 7591153Abstract: A yarn delivering apparatus comprises a yarn delivering wheel having a drive, as well as a yarn storing device having a yarn. laying device which is provided with its own yarn layer drive. A control device controls both drives, providing for a pure positive operation of the yarn delivering wheel on the one hand, and a yarn return delivery during shuttling of the knitting machine, on the other hand. Further, such a configuration improves the dynamics of the yarn delivering apparatus.Type: GrantFiled: April 18, 2007Date of Patent: September 22, 2009Assignee: Memminger-IRO GmbHInventor: Rolf Huss

Publication number: 20070278054Abstract: The yarn brake (1) according to the invention comprises individually adjustable biasing means (21, 22) which cooperate with plates (8, 9). By adjusting both biasing means (21, 22), desired positions of the brake plates (8, 9) may be deliberately set in a manner other than in conventional yarn brakes. For example, a desired centered position may be preserved for any yarn tension. It is also feasible to shift the desired centered position on purpose by deliberately adjusting both biasing means. The setting of the yarn tension is thus independent from the setting of the centered position.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2007Publication date: December 6, 2007Inventors: Rolf Huss, Atilla Horvath, Alfred Lampprecht, Friedrich Weber, Patrick Rothfuss

Patent number: 7303163Abstract: A yarn feeder system (1) includes a plurality of yarn feeders combined into one group (8). In the trial mode, the yarn feeders operate in an individually tension-controlled manner on the basis of a specified yarn tension value. The yarn feed quantities or yarn speeds that result from this at the various yarn feeders are reported to a central unit. From the reported yarn speeds, the central unit calculates a group average and sends this to the yarn feeders as a specified value for subsequent operation. As a result, the individual yarn feeders can subsequently operate in the purely positive mode. Moreover, the central unit can receive signals that characterize both the machine speed (rpm) and pattern signals, on the basis of which the yarn feeders of the particular group that is to respond at that time are switched on and off or speeded up or slowed down.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2003Date of Patent: December 4, 2007Assignee: Memminger-IRO GmbHInventors: Rolf Huss, Norbert Bammert

Publication number: 20070272784Abstract: A yarn delivery device is provided with a motor-driven yarn delivery wheel, wherein the rotated position of the yarn delivery wheels is detected with high precision by means of an angle encoder. The angle encoder has at least a resolution s which is greater than the circumference of the yarn delivery wheel, measured in millimeters. The resolution s is preferably greater than five times (preferably 5.24 times) the value of the diameter of a winding of the yarn delivery wheel. The yarn delivery wheel is preferably looped by several (three to twenty) windings.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 26, 2005Publication date: November 29, 2007Applicant: MEMMINGER-IRO GMBHInventors: Rolf Huss, Friedrich Dinkelmann, Friedrich Weber

Patent number: 6322336Abstract: In a lubricating device for a plurality of lubricating stations, in particular for supplying lubricant to knitting machines, a pump device is provided that serves at the same time as a distributor device. To that end, the pump device has a piston which is provided with a control groove. The corresponding pump cylinder has an inlet and a plurality of outlets distributed over the cylinder wall. Depending on which of the outlets the control groove of the piston is made to coincide with, a corresponding lubricating station is selected. The pump device is thus a distributor device as well.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2000Date of Patent: November 27, 2001Assignee: Memminger-Iro GmbHInventor: Rolf Huss

Patent number: 5765399Abstract: For determining the movement of a thread supply boundary on the storage surface of a thread storage and feed device, different scanning properties of at least two circumferentially offset circumferential sections of the storage surface are scanned simultaneously and converted into storage surface signals which are nonidentical among themselves and which are discriminated from thread signals which are identical among themselves. The thread signals are generated by sensors which scan a scanning zone on the storage surface and formed on the basis of a scanning property of the thread windings when the thread supply is present in the scanning zone. The thread storage and feed device is provided with first and second circumferential sections on the storage surface differing from one another with respect to their scanning properties, and a plurality of sensors.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 1996Date of Patent: June 16, 1998Assignees: Iro AB, Memminger-Iro GmbHInventors: Rolf Huss, Kurt Arne Gunnar Jacobsson, Lars Helge Gottfrid Tholander, Friedrich Weber

Patent number: 5181585Abstract: A lubricating device for supplying a plurality of lubricating points or positions, in particular of a knitting machine, with lubricant, preferably oil, has a lubricant distributor (16) which is connected on the inlet side to the pressure side of a piston-type lubricant pump (9-13) and which has lubricant outlets (26, 29) which are associated with the individual lubricating points and can be individually activated by the lubricant distributor. For this purpose, the lubricant distributor contains a distributor element (21, 21') which is rotated by a controlled motor (40) and is provided with a distributor channel via which a flow connection is established between the pressure side of the piston pump and the respectively selected lubricating point or position, in a program-controlled manner. The time duration of lubricant flow to the lubricating points or positions can be controlled, so that each lubricating point or position receives the required lubricant.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1992Date of Patent: January 26, 1993Assignee: Memminger-Iro GmbHInventors: Dieter Braun, Rolf Huss, Alfred Lampprecht

Patent number: 4416165Abstract: A stepping gear includes an output member attached to a wheel which is provided with a number of rollers on both faces thereof. In driving contact with these rollers is a pair of cam members having contours which allow for driving in the forward direction as well as a standstill or dwell phase. In addition, reverse movement of the wheel is made possible by providing an undercut in one of the cams coupled with a superelevation on the other of the two cams. Form locking engagement between the cams and the rollers is maintained during the forward driving phase, and the standstill and return phases as well.Type: GrantFiled: December 29, 1981Date of Patent: November 22, 1983Assignee: Focke and CompanyInventors: Klaus Kramer, Rolf Huss
