  • Publication number: 20020143456
Abstract: A braking torque regulator for a vehicle includes a braking energy recovery arrangement that is able to generate a first braking torque which may not exceed a maximum first braking torque, and a mechanical brake system that is able to generate a second braking torque. The braking torque regulator is supplied with a setpoint braking torque, and the first braking torque and/or the second braking torque is regulated by the braking torque regulator so that the setpoint braking torque is used to correct an actual braking torque detected by a sensor system. A method is for regulating a braking torque in a vehicle and circuitry for a braking torque regulator for a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20020116108
Abstract: In a monitoring device for a vehicle including a drive engine, the monitoring device monitors the power train of the vehicle. The monitoring device includes an arrangement configured to generate a first signal which indicates a setpoint drive torque, a sensor system which measures an actual drive torque and generates a second signal which indicates the actual drive torque, and an analyzer which receives the first signal and the second signal in order to identify possible fault conditions in the power train of the vehicle. Furthermore, a method is for monitoring the power train of a vehicle, and a device is for performing the method.

  • Publication number: 20020042323
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling a motor vehicle having an integrated electric machine which generates electric as well as mechanical power. In the context of a hierarchal control structure having several logic components, the electric machine is allocated as a component “electric drive” to the component “drive” with respect to its function for generating mechanical power and as a component “generator” to the component “vehicle electric drive” with respect to its function for generating electric power.

  • Patent number: 6301528
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling electrical consumers in a vehicle are suggested with a control structure being provided for the consumers, the control structure including at least a higher-ranking consumer management which receives requests from the consumers with respect to the consumer power individually or as sums. The control structure further includes a coordinator for the vehicle electrical system and the power generation thereof, the coordinator receiving the sum of the requested electric consumer power from the consumer management. The coordinator of the vehicle electrical system adjusts the requested electric power via orders to the vehicle electrical system components and the consumer management takes the generated electrical power via control of the consumers.

  • Patent number: 6182003
Abstract: A method and device setting a driving torque in a motor vehicle, in particular setting the torque as a part of an anti-slip regulation. At least two triggerable actuators are available for influencing the driving torque, where the actuators have different dynamic responses with regard to the setting of a driving torque. The core of the invention consists of the fact that first a component of the driving torque to be set is determined, and this component thus determined is used for triggering the actuator with the lower dynamics. In addition, the change in the driving torque produced by this triggering of the actuator with the lower dynamics is estimated. The difference between the driving torque to be set and the estimated driving torque is then used for triggering at least one actuator with higher dynamics.

  • Patent number: 5727856
Abstract: At least one controlled variable depending on the rotational speed of the wheels and at least one desired value are sent to a controller. The controller exhibits low-pass behavior, this low-pass behavior being variable depending on whether or not certain operating conditions are present. The invention offers the advantage that excitations of drive train vibrations are effectively suppressed.

  • Patent number: 5556174
Abstract: When a differential speed determined from the wheel speeds has superimposed thereon a frequency typical of drive train vibrations, a vibration signal is generated. When the vibration signal exceeds a threshold, a torsional moment based on the difference between the engine speed and the differential speed is used to modify activation times of the brake pressure control valves so that the drive train vibrations decay.

  • Patent number: 5445442
Abstract: The invention relates to a drive slip control system in which the driven wheels are braked when spinning. Desired braking torques for the driven wheels are calculated using the actual speeds of the driven wheels and the desired speeds of the driven wheels. A first controller generates a first braking torque value MB1 using the difference .omega..sub.D in the actual speeds and the difference .omega.*.sub.D in the desired speeds. A second controller generates a second braking torque value MB2 using the sum .omega..sub.s of the actual speeds and the sum .omega.*.sub.s of the desired speeds. Both controllers have an integral component and a proportional component. The desired left braking torque MB.sub.L is calculated using the sum MB1+MB2. The desired right braking torque MB.sub.R is calculated using the difference MB2-MB1. The desired torques are then converted to control times for the brake pressure control valves.

  • Patent number: 5443307
Abstract: A drive slip control system for the driven wheels of a motor vehicle is disclosed in which the differential is blocked by the action of the brakes. With the aid of the difference in the rate of rotation of the driven wheels and with the aid of the engine rpm a PID controller and a damping action generate signals that correspond to braking moments which are converted into valve control times and generate a brake pressure at a specific brake.

  • Patent number: 5403074
Abstract: A two-channel antiblocking system for the driven wheels of an axle in which either an electronic decoupling system is connected downstream of the channels, or the channels are fed the sum (channel 1) or the difference (channel 2) of the wheel speed signals, specific controllers being used for the sum and difference, and the outputs of these controllers being on the one hand added to the actuating signal for the first channel and, on the other hand, subtracted from the actuating signal for the second channel. The aim of both measures is to compensate at least partially the coupling, caused by the differential, that is present between two drive wheels.

  • Patent number: 5074587
Abstract: A self-supporting motor-vehicle body includes outer lateral side members (sills) on a substructure in the region of the passenger cell, and front and rear side members which are angularly offset relative to a longitudinal center axis of the vehicle and respectively located at a vehicle forward structure and at a vehicle rearward structure. The front and rear side members adjoin the lateral side members via a bent portion. In order to provide stiffening of the body, struts are secured to the substructure of the body so as each to be fastened at one end to a lateral side member, and directed towards a middle region of the vehicle with their other end fastened once again to the substructure of the body. A front strut is guided from each of the two lateral side members into the vehicle forward structure and/or a rear strut is guided from each of the two lateral side members into the vehicle rearward structure, with each strut preferably being aligned at an angle of approximately 45.degree.
