  • Patent number: 9327263
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for carrying out reactions with participation of carbocations, whereby the initial most strongly exothermic phase of the reaction is carried out at high temperature (60 to 120° C.) and short residence time (1 to 30 seconds) in a microreactor and the subsequent less exothermic phases are carried out at optionally lower temperatures in two or more residence time units with longer residence times (1 to 30 seconds).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 2006
Date of Patent: May 3, 2016
    Assignee: ESIM Chemicals GmbH

  • Patent number: 4989988
Abstract: An apparatus for fine-mixing, dispersing, and emulsifying media capable to flow, such as gases or fluids, comprising an injection nozzle for injecting the pre-mixed media and a hollow body with a bore, disposed mirror-inverted and at a small distance thereto, the outlet end of said nozzle and inlet end of said hollow body, seen in the direction of flow, being a part of an annular gap working as pre-emulsifying chamber. For intensifying the mixing and effecting a pre-emulsification, the hollow body with the bore is sharp-edged. The apparatus further comprises a following homogenizing chamber having at its internal walls means for enhancing the turbulence of the mixture. If no pre-mixed media are used, it is also possible to provide for one or more channels, disposed perpendicularly to the injection nozzle and reaching into said annular gap for injecting a second medium or further media.

  • Patent number: 4867997
Abstract: A process is described for preparing in particular alcohol-free wine in which by extraction with supercritical CO.sub.2 firstly a specific aroma fraction with limited ethanol content is separated from the starting wine. The residual wine is then subjected to a vacuum distillation in which apart from the complete separation of the ethanol from the residual wine a fraction of more difficulty extractable aromatic substances not affected by the extraction is recovered which in the end together with the extract is added to the dealcoholized residual wine again to obtain an alcohol-free wine. The method permits an almost complete removal of the alcohol content without detrimentally affecting the basic wine and with retention of all the aromatic and flavoring substances characteristic of the wine.

  • Patent number: 4670115
Abstract: In an electrolytic silver refining process, crude silver is anodically dissolved while refined silver is cathodically deposited and at the accompanying (impurity) metals are selectively extracted from the used (spent) electrolyte and transferred to an aqueous phase. The used electrolyte is enriched in silver and accompanying metals are cathodically deposited and thus removed from the electrolyte. For this purpose, a specific electrolysis cell is provided. The cell being preferably a diaphragm cell with an anionic diaphragm. The extraction of the accompanying metals is achieved by liquid membrane permeation, preferably combined with solvent extraction.
