  • Patent number: 9440756
Abstract: An apparatus for wrapping a stack of objects with a film has a film supply holding the film and a support including only two vertical masts adjacent the film supply and juxtaposed with the stack to be wrapped. A pull-down device is shiftable vertically along the two masts next to the stack. A film-feed head is also shiftable vertically along the two masts. The film extends from the supply through the film-feed head to the pull-down device. A film-storing means or looper is provided in the film-feed head for storing a variable length of the film in the head.

  • Patent number: 9423506
Abstract: A method for improving an accuracy of a radio based navigation system by correcting the position given by the radio based navigation system with a correction vector derived from localization data stored in a map database. Position coordinates of the radio based navigation system are measured. A set of 3D map data is selected based upon the measured position coordinates of the radio based navigation system position coordinates. The actual position is determined from the selected 3D map data. The actual position data coordinates are retrieved from the 3D map data based upon the determined actual position. The correction vector is calculated from position difference between measured radio based navigation system position coordinates and retrieved actual position coordinates. The position given by the radio based navigation system is corrected with the correction vector.

  • Patent number: 9126703
Abstract: An apparatus for wrapping a film around each of a sequence of objects passing sequentially through a wrapping station has a supply of the film adjacent the station, a feed head at the station having a base, a support carried on the base and rotatable relative thereto about a vertical axis, and a feeder on the base for pulling the film off the supply and feeding it to the support. A film storer carried on the support is operable to take in and store a length of film fed to the support by the feeder. A pull-down device in the station is vertically displaceable below the feed head.

  • Patent number: 8776486
Abstract: An apparatus for wrapping an object with a film has a film-feed head having a drive for pulling the film from a supply and feeding it in a feed direction through the head toward an object to be wrapped with the film and a pull-down device downstream in the direction from the head for drawing the film around the object. A blower directs a stream of air in the feed head parallel and immediately adjacent to the film and in the feed direction so as to entrain the film in the direction.

  • Patent number: 8453422
Abstract: An apparatus for wrapping a stack of objects with a film has first and second supplies of films and a pull-down device shiftable vertically along the stack of objects. A film-feed head has a drive roller rotatable about an axis in the film feed head and first and second pairs of counterrollers angularly offset from each other relative to the drive-roller axis. The drive roller and the pairs of counterrollers are relatively shiftable between end positions in each of which one of the pairs is spaced from the drive roller and the other pair is engaged with the drive roller. The first and second films pass between the respective first and second pairs and the drive roller. An actuator can shift the first and the second pairs of rollers relative the drive roller for pinching the films against the drive roller and, on rotation of the drive roller.

  • Patent number: 7966790
Abstract: An apparatus for pulling a tubular film down over a large object has at least two guide and roller assemblies each flanking the object and each movable vertically along the object. Each assembly has a guide, an outer roller and an inner roller. The film is gathered by positioning the assemblies in an upper position, orienting the inner rollers generally below the outer rollers, and rotating the rollers while gripping the hood between them to pull the tube down and form it into folds beneath the roller assemblies. The film is pulled down over the object by orienting the inner rollers generally above the outer rollers, and then shifting the roller assemblies downward while rotating the rollers so as to pull the tube up and unfold it.

  • Publication number: 20070154585
Abstract: Calibration sleeve for extruded plastic pipes with a first layer of flexible straps that run diagonal to the longitudinal axis of the calibration device and a second layer of flexible straps, the first and second layers of straps intercross in the manner of an extendable lattice grate in which the intercrossing points are connected in an articulated manner. The first or second layers of straps are fastened in an articulated manner on an axially adjustable rigid retaining ring at the end of a calibration sleeve, and the straps of the other layer end at an axial distance from the retaining ring. Such a calibration sleeve has an inside diameter which can be adjusted precisely while taking the contraction behavior of the extruded pipe into account. The straps of the first and second layer are fastened in a stationary and in an articulated manner at the intake of the calibration sleeve.

  • Publication number: 20050145419
Abstract: The invention pertains to a scale for determining the mass flow rate of bulk materials in accordance with the differential principle. In order to decouple a receptacle (1) that is freely suspended on a weighing device (1b, 1c) and arranged upstream of a processing machine, in particular, an extruder (10), from the bulk material flowing from a filling funnel (2) arranged directly above the open-top receptacle (1), a bottom outlet (2b*) of the filling funnel (2) can be closed with a slide gate (5) that is supported in a pivoted fashion and provided with a downwardly directed stripping edge (5b) on its front end. During the pivoting of the slide gate, this stripping edge clears the material backing up directly underneath the slide gate and thusly ensures the aforementioned decoupling.

  • Patent number: 4884525
Abstract: The invention relates to an installation for zinc coating one or both sides of continuous steel strip. In order to retain short change-over times when changing from one process to the other, the invention proposes to flange-mount in readily releasably manner a housing (2a, 2b), with guide rolls (3a, 3b) mounted therein, on the duct (5) leading from the furnace to the zinc bath and to design this housing so that it can be interchanged with a support for the guide roll (10) during two-sided zinc coating, making use of the mounting at the duct (5).

  • Patent number: 4572099
Abstract: Steel strip is run towards container containing liquid zinc, and is either deflected before reaching the surface or from an immersed position, by a second deflection roll; in the first case, a scooping roll flushes liquidous zinc against the strip. The strip is either run through a protective gas containing cooling path or through the outer atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4176535
Abstract: A combined apparatus is provided for handling rolled material issuing from a rolling mill finishing line. An arrangement is provided for cropping the head and tail ends of the rolled material running at high speed after it is divided into the desired lengths and for diverting the cropped lengths to a path separate from the cropped ends. Also, arrangements are provided for coordinating the actual speed of the issuing rolled material with the rotary shears for dividing the rolled material into lengths. In addition, arrangements are provided for the controlled chopping of the cropped ends in relation to the speed of the line.

  • Patent number: 4148387
Abstract: The invention relates to a switch for wire mills and refined iron mills for selecting one of two or more continuing tubular guides for rolled material arriving successively in one guide. A guide tube is used which may be oriented at the inlet orifices of the continuing guides, and which is connected to the arrival guide, whereby the guide tube may be set, while a rolled material strand is being forwarded to one of the continuing guides, for one of the other continuing guides.
