  • Patent number: 5943748
Abstract: In the case of an arrangement for transporting at least one thread treated in a thread conditioning plant from a delivery roller pair to a transport belt which takes up the thread in the form of thread loops, an adapter is arranged downstream of the delivery roller pair, with which adapter it is possible to equip the arrangement as required with a stuffer box or an oscillating loop laying device. By simply exchanging an aggregate it becomes possible, depending on the type of operation required, to crimp and heat set threads or to treat uncrimped threads.

  • Patent number: 5647109
Abstract: A texturizing device for a yarn conditioning plant comprises a stuffer box, which is made from one piece. The cross section of the stuffer box channel is circular and predominantly constant; however, a taper and/or a yarn retarding lid can be arranged at the exit end of the stuffer box channel. In order to attain a crimping effect when the production is started, the stuffer box comprises at least one air inlet opening, which leads into the stuffer box channel, and which is directed against the channel inlet opening.

  • Patent number: 5467513
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for heat-setting carpet yarn by conveying continuously running yarn through a heat-setting chamber. To facilitate production of variable texture yarn, a controllable oscillating yarn supply tube assembly is provided for laying down various yarn patterns on a conveyor belt which travels through the heat-setting chamber. The oscillating yarn supply tube assembly is configured to facilitate switch of production between straight-set and various highly crimped textured yarn patterns via simple adjustment of the drive motor which oscillates the yarn supply tube. The apparatus can be used for a new machine as well as for conversion kits for existing carpet heat-setting machines having stuffer boxes supplying highly crimped yarn to a conveyor belt.

  • Patent number: 5190202
Abstract: Yarns are deposited on a conveyor belt in the form of random or ordered loops and are conducted through a yarn treating chamber. The treated yarn is drawn from the belt at a predetermined draw-off site. The position of the last yarn loop adjacent the draw-off site is scanned by a sensor, and the draw-off velocity is controlled as a function of deviations in the location of this last yarn loop. At the draw-off site a holding device is provided to press the looped yarn against the conveyor belt. During any interruptions of the drawing-off operation, the yarn will accumulate on the conveyor belt. The holding device and sensor are mounted to a slide which relocates the sensor and holding device downstream to a position in the vicinity of the last yarn loop so that the holding device will act on the yarn when the drawing-off operation is resumed. The holding device is then moved upstream along with the last yarn loop as the drawing-off operation proceeds.
