The lower region has an inlet through which wastewater to be treated is fed and the upper region has an outlet through which treated water is removed. Within the vessel a series of horizontally stacked baffles are arranged to allow the wastewater to pass from the inlet to the outlet. Each baffle is operable to trap and absorb air and solids from the wastewater.
