  • Publication number: 20090199990
Abstract: A device for feeding web material through a processing installation comprises a conveyor belt which has a first segment and a second segment. An opening roller and a guiding surface are adapted for unfolding the conveyor belt by means of separating the first and second segments. A spreader roll is adapted to keep the conveyor belt unfolded while a tail of said web material is placed on said first segment. A folding roll is adapted for folding said second segment over said first segment for to enclose the tail in the conveyor belt. The spreader roll comprises a first roll portion, a second roll portion and a circumferential guiding track separating the roll portions. The first roll portion, which is adapted for supporting said first segment, has a cylindrical outer surface.

  • Publication number: 20090165614
Abstract: A device for transferring a tail of a cellulose based fibrous web from a first unit to a second unit, the device includes: a separating member adapted to form a space between a first face of the tail and the first unit; a tail pick up pulley to be inserted in the space between the first face of the tail and the first unit, the tail pick up pulley moving the tail into a cutting position; a cutting device for cutting the tail at the cutting position, and a tail conveyor device for catching the tail cut at the cutting position and for forwarding the cut tail to the second unit.

  • Publication number: 20060249011
Abstract: An arrangement for a weapon including a countermass for reducing the pressure around the weapon. The countermass is enclosed in a countermass container that can be opened at both ends. The invention aims to bring about a symmetrical opening with favorable recoil in a better way than in previous constructions. This is achieved by the countermass including elements that can bind and retain the liquid symmetrically in a desired geometry over the cross section of the barrel and the cross section of any following expansion part.

  • Publication number: 20050172767
Abstract: For the purpose of transferring a leader of a web-formed material (1) from a first treatment step to a subsequent second treatment step, the web-formed material (1) is divided by forming a strip (1a) in one edge portion of the web-formed material. The strip (1a) is passed in between two sharp edges (5a,6a) located close to each other, such that the two sharp edges (5a,6a) embrace the strip like a pair of shears. Thereafter, one of the sharp edges (6a) is moved towards the other (5a) so that said one edge (6a) passes said other edge (5a), hence cutting off the strip. With the same movement, the leader is given an impulse, in a direction essentially perpendicular to the strip (1a), towards a leader conveyor (7,8) which intercepts the leader and passes it into the second treatment step.

  • Patent number: 5343584
Abstract: A polisher is supported on either a frame/arm arrangement or on a vehicle which is guided by track, and is arranged to be energized to polish a predetermined surface of an annular flange or the like, when relative movement is sensed between the polishing element and the surface to be polished. The polishing arrangement can be motor driven so that the polisher can be left to polish the surface in the absence of an operator.

  • Patent number: 5291531
Abstract: An auxiliary platform has a one-ton hoist which may be used in conjunction with a rigid pole handling system. The positioning of the one-ton hoist, as well as the positioning of a trolley on which the hoist is mounted and the positioning of the platform, is centrally controlled at a control panel. In one embodiment, a new set of tracks are provided on either side of a refueling pool. A pair of cavity platforms are installed over the edges of the reactor cavity to receive the new set of tracks and to thereby allow the auxiliary platform to travel over the reactor cavity. In another embodiment, the existing tracks are extended and a single new track is provided between the equipment pool and the reactor pressure vessel head pedestal and spent fuel cask washdown area. The auxiliary platform is made extendable so that it can travel over the width of the existing tracks and also over width defined by the new track and one of the existing tracks.

  • Patent number: 4625434
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement in cylinder drying, intended for incorporation in a paper machine and including a plurality of heated cylinders (1) arranged substantially parallel in two rows, about which the paper web (2) is taken serpentine during drying, whereat it is carried by an endless porous fourdrinier wire (3) which presses the web against the cylinder surfaces in one row of cylinders and lies between the paper web and the cylinders in the other row. For preventing the web from lifting from the wire as a result of pressure differences on either side thereof, there are blowing boxes (11,12) arranged for blowing out air in at least some of the pockets (4,5) situated on opposite sides of the web, each of said pockets being formed by the web and three cylinders lying consecutively in the travelling direction of the web.

  • Patent number: 4553340
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealing device in a cylinder drier, intended for incorporation in a paper machine and including a plurality of cylinders arranged in two substantially parallel rows (1a,1b), the paper web (2) being trained serpentine about said cylinder during drying, said web being carried by an endless porous Fourdrinier drier (3) adapted for pressing the web against the cylinder surfaces in one row of cylinders and situated between the paper web and the cylinder surfaces in the other row. Two shielding members (7,15) being disposed in the space restricted by the wire and an intermediate cylinder surface on that cylinder which the wire and the web come onto and leave. Said shielding members facing the wire and extending substantially in parallel with and close to the wire and over the entire width of the web.
