  • Patent number: 4884023
Abstract: In order to determine the rotor resistance of a rotating field machine, a current is impressed in the stator via a field-oriented control, which current has a harmonic component above the nominal frequency of the machine. From the current, the rotor position and a readjustable parameter value for the rotor resistance, a current model calculates a field-parallel EMF component EF1, the harmonic component EF1.sub..about. of which is isolated. In addition, a voltage model calculates from the current and the voltage, the EMF vector as the current component reference value EF1' and its harmonic component EF1'.sub..about.. A correction control CR1 readjusts the parameter r.sub.R of the rotor resistance until the difference of the two isolated harmonic EMF components disappears. The test signal has practically no influence on the flux and the torque of the machine. At the same time, the stator resistance r.sub.S and the stray inductance x.sub.St can be determined.

  • Patent number: 4779783
Abstract: An apparatus for removing an endless paper web folded in a large stack and for feeding the paper web to the printing unit of a high-speed printer, particularly a laser printer applying a removal force, at least above stack and in the removal direction behind the same and in front of the printing unit of the high-speed printer is positioned at least one guide roller. At least one of the guide rollers also serves as a deflection roller and for reducing the removal force and, consequently, prevent the risk of the paper web tearing. At least one deflection roller is provided with an additional continuous drive.

  • Patent number: 4712937
Abstract: The plotter stylus has a writing point (10) which is connected to the ink cartridge (50) via the ink duct (40). The ink duct (40) is surrounded by a pressure compensator (20) and connected thereto. In the pressure compensator a compensator element (21) is provided with annular chambers (23) which absorb surplus ink emerging from the ink duct (40) in the case of temperature or pressure increases. The annular chambers have no capillarity for the ink. Air is introduced via the air inlet orifice (28) located above the chambers (23). The ink cartridge (50) is exchangeable.

  • Patent number: 4630909
Abstract: Measuring apparatus for measuring the position of a light source inside a lighthouse as used in the manufacture of phosphor screens of color picture tubes comprises a base plate and two optical projection devices which are directed on to the light source, and which each contain at least two position diodes. An evaluating circuit connected thereto ascertains the position of the light source and the result is fed to a display device.

  • Patent number: 4307337
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of determining variations in the previously adjusted nominal distance between the facing surfaces of a color selection electrode and a display window of a color television display tube in places situated near the corners of the display window. In this method the capacitance variations in that distance are determined by measuring a capacitor one electrode of which is formed by the color selection electrode and the other electrode is formed by a measuring electrode surrounded by a screening electrode, the measuring electrode being provided on the outer surface of the display window.

  • Patent number: 4264238
Abstract: The discharge end of a supply conduit for a mixture of tobacco particles and air communicates with the top portion of a hollow cylindrical housing for a driven cell wheel whose cells are subdivided into inner and outer chambers by impermeable partitions. The outer chamber of each preceding cell communicates with the inner chamber of the respective next-following cell by way of a sieve which forms part of the corresponding vane of the cell wheel. The outlet for tobacco particles is disposed at the lowermost point of the housing and communicates with successive outer chambers, the same as the discharge end of the supply conduit. A suction pipe for evacuation of gaseous carrier medium has an intake end which is coaxial with the wheel and communicates with successive inner chambers at a level above the axis of the wheel so that the inner chambers of cells whose outer chambers discharge tobacco particles into the outlet are sealed from the suction pipe.

  • Patent number: 4236535
Abstract: A filter cigarette making machine wherein two plain cigarettes of unit length are connected to a coaxial filter plug of double unit length therebetween by an adhesive-coated uniting band which is convoluted around the filter plug and the inner ends of the plain cigarettes. The machine has a rotary drum-shaped draping conveyor and a heated stationary block-shaped rolling device adjacent to the peripheral surface of the conveyor to normally define therewith a gap of a width slightly less than the diameter of a group consisting of two coaxial plain cigarettes and a filter plug therebetween. Successive groups, each of which carries a non-convoluted uniting band, are fed into the gap by moving sideways whereby the groups roll about their own axes and the uniting bands are converted into tubular envelopes.
