  • Patent number: 10527078
Abstract: Breakaway retention device (100) is comprises a retained member (120) and a retention body (110). The retention member includes a retention knob (121). The retention body includes a housing having one or more resilient components (113a and 113b), two or more retention members (114a, 114b, 114a, and 114d), and a retention space (118). The retention space is at least partially defined by the retention members and configured to receive the retention knob when the retained member and the retention body are coupled together. The resilient components are disposed to resiliently maintain each of the retention members in a predetermined engagement position in the retention body to engage the retention knob when the retained member and the retention body are coupled together. The retained member and the retention body are prevented from being decoupled without the application of a predetermined force.

  • Patent number: 9742113
Abstract: Systems and methods providing an electrical interface between a male plug (1002) and a female receptacle (100, 500, 1000, 1600). The methods comprise: receiving a conductive pin (402, 800, 1006, 1602) of the male plug in a socket opening (112, 900, 1012, 1612) of the female receptacle; providing (a) first spring loaded floating contact points (460) between an elongate body (422) of the conductive pin and an electrical contact (106A-106B) of the female receptacle and (b) at least one second spring loaded floating contact point (462) between a tip (420) of the conductive pin and the electrical contact (110) of the female receptacle, when the conductive pin is fully inserted into the female receptacle; and maintaining at least two of the spring loaded floating contact points when the pin moves within the socket opening as a result of an external force applied to the male plug or female receptacle.

  • Patent number: 7862373
Abstract: An electrical connector has a flexible boot to create a flexible, sealed interface. A connector body has a plurality of pin receivers positioned within a tubular sleeve. The flexible boot is received in the connector body and includes a tubular body of elastically flexible material. The tubular body has a body diameter dimensionally controlled to provide an interference fit when received in the tubular sleeve. A boot flexible sleeve is positioned outward of the tubular body. A boot joining wall homogenously joins the tubular body to the flexible sleeve. A flange extends from a free end of the flexible sleeve defining a circular ring oriented transverse to and encircling the flexible sleeve. A boot ring fixes the flange to a panel. The connector body is thereafter elastically displaceable with respect to the panel when the tubular body deflects with respect to the flexible sleeve and the flange.

  • Publication number: 20050087432
Abstract: A float switch system for limiting to desirable levels current and energy entering a tank of combustible liquid comprises: a float switch disposed within the tank; an interface circuit external to the tank and coupled through wiring to the float switch; a passive transient suppression circuit coupled to the wiring external and in proximity to the tank, and operative to limit current and energy entering the tank over the wiring to the desirable levels; and a control circuit coupled to the float switch through the transient suppression circuit and to the interface circuit, the control circuit operative to monitor the status of the float switch with current within the desirable current level and to energize the interface circuit based on the switch status.
