  • Patent number: 8704476
Abstract: To detect an entrapment situation when a driven component is adjusted using a mechanical adjustment system which has an electric motor (2), a value (Fakt) relating to the force acting upon the driven component is compared with a threshold value (FTh) relating to a reference value (FRef). • Patent number: 8620531
Abstract: In a method and device for correcting temperature-dependent changes in the mechanical properties of a closing part of a vehicle, the closing part can be moved by a direct current motor. As part of the production of the vehicle, the mechanical properties of the mobile closing part are ascertained during a closing procedure at a first ambient temperature and stored in a non-volatile manner in the form of a first reference characteristic in a memory of the vehicle. While the vehicle is running at least one more reference characteristic is ascertained and likewise stored in a non-volatile manner in the memory of the vehicle, whereby every additional reference characteristic is associated with a different ambient temperature. The stored reference characteristics are compared to a calculated characteristic while the vehicle is running in order to check whether jamming exists or not.

  • Patent number: 8541969
Abstract: In a method and a device for pulse width modulated (PWM-) activation of an electrical drive motor (2) of an adjustment arrangement based on a reference of the mechanical system of the adjustment arrangement that corresponds to a relationship between the force (F) on the drive motor (2) and the adjustment path (s) or the adjustment time (t) of the adjustment arrangement stored in a memory (9), an anticipated future force value (F(t+t0)) is determined based on the reference of the mechanical system in order to adjust the PWM activation in advance by utilizing this future force value such that motor synchronization fluctuations can be prevented upon anticipated mechanical fluctuations in the adjustment arrangement.

  • Patent number: 8461786
Abstract: In a method and a device for determining the position of a closing part of a vehicle, that can be moved by a direct-current motor, a motor current signal is derived from the direct-current motor and converted into a digital signal by an analog-digital converter. The signal is filtered and forwarded to a position counter for counting the current ripple. The scanning frequency of the analog-digital converter is modified according to the rotational speed of the direct-current motor.

  • Patent number: 8463505
Abstract: In a computer-aided detection of the jamming of an object, wherein, when adjusting a component of a motor vehicle using an adjusting drive (6), measurement values related to the adjusting force (F) are compared to a prescribed threshold value (FR), initiating a slowdown, stop, or reversing of the adjusting motion when said value is reached. A spring rate correcting term characterizing the rigidity of the object is determined for correcting the relationship between the adjusting force (F) and the threshold value (FR), and is considered in the comparison.
