  • Publication number: 20240090604
Abstract: Various aspects disclosed relate to structure such as a textile, a garment, a garment component, footwear, or a footwear component. The present disclosure includes the structure having a first region having one of more first fibers. An individual first fiber includes co-extruded first and second filaments, the first filament formed of a first thermoplastic polymeric material. Due to expansion or contraction of the one or more first fibers, the first region contracts or expands on a change in relative humidity, relative to an equilibrium state of the first region prior to the change in relative humidity.

  • Patent number: 11849804
Abstract: A shoe may include various features to improve performance, increase manufacturing efficiency, and provide environmental benefits over traditional shoes. In some cases, a shoe includes an upper portion constructed from a continuous textile that includes multiple regions having different textile properties to improve the performance of the shoe, including durability and comfort. The upper portion may define a cuff region and a flex region adapted to expand to allow a wearer to put on the shoe and to contract to retain the shoe on the wearer's foot. The shoe may further include a heel retainer adapted to conform to a shape of the wearer's foot and retain the shoe on the wearer's foot. Eyelets of the shoe may be positioned along an external surface of the upper portion to improve comfort and simplify manufacturing.

  • Publication number: 20230354947
Abstract: A shoe including a component formed at least in part from a recycled thermoplastic material is disclosed. The recycled thermoplastic material may be derived from scrap material from an operation of making another component of the shoe. The recycled thermoplastic material may be derived at least in part from scrap thermoplastic foam from an operation of making a sole component of the shoe, but the shoe component including the recycled thermoplastic material may have a density greater than that of the sole component. Both shoe components may be bio-based. Methods for making shoe components including the recycled thermoplastic material are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20230301871
Abstract: A membrane for a closed system transfer device includes a first portion including a first material and a second portion including a second material. The first material has different material properties than the second material. The first portion is configured to prevent leakage through the first portion when the first portion is punctured by a cannula for a first predetermined amount of time, and the second portion is configured to prevent leakage through the second portion when the second portion is punctured by the cannula for a second predetermined amount of time. The first predetermined amount of time is larger than the second predetermined amount of time.
