  • Patent number: 11421615
Abstract: A Molded Air Intake System and Method for Internal Combustion Engines. The method of the present invention permits the single-shot molding of an air intake system, such as by roto-molding. The resultant air intake system has an internal pipe element and an external element, both of which are formed with superior molding tolerances. The internal pipe element is defined by an inner mold form that is insertable and removable from an external mold form. The final molded part defines an outer wall and an inner wall and an MAFS mounting pad having inner and outer apertures formed therethrough.

  • Patent number: 10781774
Abstract: A Twist-interlocking Engine Housing and Air Filter System and Method is disclosed. The filter assembly provides unequaled ease of installation and removal, as well as superior sealing between the housing and the filter assembly. For installation, the user needs only to insert the filter into the housing and then give the filter assembly a one-quarter turn or less to lock the filter assembly into the housing. There are features within the filter base that snap-locks the filter in place to resist inadvertent loosening. Finally, the housing and filter are designed so that the outer flange of the filter base is recessed into the side of the housing in order to prevent the intrusion of unwanted grime and/or fluids.

  • Patent number: 7757548
Abstract: A Calibrated Air Intake Tract for Internal Combustion Engine is disclosed. The intake includes a Mass Airflow Sensor section that defines an inner diameter that differs from the diameter of the overall intake air tract piping. The Mass Airflow Sensor length and diameter are precision-tuned in order to provide the best engine performance without the typical “check engine” light being lit due to faulty mass airflow sensor readings. In those vehicles where necessary, an insert of the appropriate size and in the proper location is added to the interior wall of the MAFS section in order to correct final fuel trim level inadequacies.

  • Patent number: 7359795
Abstract: A Calibration Method for Air Intake Tracts for Internal Combustion Engines is disclosed. The method tunes the replacement cold air intake so that the Original Equipment Mass Airflow Sensor will function with the emissions control system without check engine light illumination. The method uses the exhaust effluent composition to benchmark the OEM intake system and then to match the cold air intake to that benchmark test result. The method could use the exhaust effluent composition for calibration as well as verification, or the method could use Sensor signal output for calibration and then exhaust effluent composition for verification of the design specification.

  • Patent number: 7011103
Abstract: A Vacuum Relief Assembly for I.C. Engine Intakes is disclosed. Also disclosed is a device that permits outside air into the intake tract of an internal combustion engine in the event of an excessively high vacuum condition within the intake tract. Furthermore, the device is constructed from durable materials and resists the excessive temperatures found in the engine compartment of a vehicle. Still further, the device is made from two half-cylindrical sections that mate to one another around the intake tract to form a cylindrical attachment. The method of installation enables the device to be installable onto the intake tract in situ, and without the need to cut out a section of the tract.
