Patent number: 11397571Abstract: System and methods are disclosed for remote management of mobile satellite antenna modules having an antenna subsystem module (ASM). An ASM periodically transmits a check-in message and metrics data to a server. The server analyzes the check-in message and metrics data to determine a state of operation of the antenna, and determine one or more management commands to improve the performance of the ASM. Information in the metrics data received from each ASM can be queried and processed using machine learning to determine correlation between attributes of the ASMs and performance of the ASMs.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2019Date of Patent: July 26, 2022Assignee: KYMETA CORPORATIONInventors: Paul Klassen, Ron Radko, Jonas Nicholson, Kevin KleinOsowski, Taylor Stokes, David Cooper, Greg Eigsti

Patent number: 5687392Abstract: The present invention is a method and apparatus for efficiently transferring data between an input/output device and a main memory area of a computer system. More specifically, the invention transfers a requested amount of data using direct memory access and either a single transfer buffer or a dynamically allocated transfer buffer. The invention receives input/output requests that specify an amount of data to be transferred between the input/output device and a logical user buffer contained within the main memory area. By evaluating physical memory locations that correspond to the logical user buffer, the invention determines whether the physical memory locations conform to addressing limitations of a direct memory access transfer buffer. When the physical memory locations conform to the addressing limitations of a direct memory transfer buffer, the invention transfers the requested data directly between the input/output device and the physical memory locations of the logical user buffer.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 1994Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Ron Radko

Patent number: 5625799Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining the logic and functionality of a disk changeline. By attempting to reset the changeline and monitoring the changeline for a change in state, the present invention determines whether a changeline is functional. When the present invention does not immediately observe a change in state, the present invention accesses the disk drive to determine whether a disk is present in the drive. When a disk is present in the drive, the present invention reads the changeline and stores the read value as a disk present value. When the present invention has previously determined that the changeline is functional, the present invention inverts the disk present value to create a disk not present value. When a disk is not present in the disk drive, the present invention stores the read value of the changeline as the disk not present value.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1994Date of Patent: April 29, 1997Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventor: Ron Radko
