The seal member has a clip portion with a lid receiving channel and an overflow channel. The lid has a top end and a sidewall defining an internal lid space. A lower end of the sidewall is receivable in the lid receiving channel of the seal member. The food support assembly is connected to the sidewall and is operable between a raised position wherein a food item may be supported within the internal lid space and a lowered position wherein the food item may be supported below the seal member in the cooking vessel.

The apparatus includes a tubular member, an annular structure extending from the tubular member, and a screen extending across a bottom end of the tubular member. The tubular member defines as a plant receiving chamber, and the annular structure defines an annular channel for receiving a chemical pesticide. The screen extending across the bottom of the tubular member is formed of mesh sized to allow fluid to exit the bottom end of the tubular member and is sized to inhibit pests from entering the bottom end of the tubular member.
