  • Publication number: 20090266309
Abstract: A device (10) for receiving and confining an animal, such as a bail, is disclosed. The device (10) comprises a pen (12) having at least two elongate walls (21, 22) spaced apart to define a space into which the animal is received. An entry gate assembly (24) is located at a first end of the pen (12) and is movable between an open position, which permits entry of the animal into the pen (12), and a closed position. An exit gate assembly (26) is located at a second end of the pen (12) and movable between an open position, which permits the release of the animal from the pen (12), and a closed position, which prevents release of the animal from the receiving pen (12). At least one of the entry gate assembly (24) and the exit gate assembly (26) includes a pair of door members (30), each having a substantially vertically extending planar surface (32).

  • Patent number: 6401387
Abstract: A cellular container assembly comprises collapsible linked two-layer, open-ended structure containers formed of opposed container walls. The containers are formed by weldment at opposed contacting wall portions to form multiple cells for retention of a soil mix and an associated plant. The assembly also comprises a soil drain board upon which the containers are supported. The drain board defines a fluid permeable mat having pylons and a foraminous screen resting upon the mat. The drain board is mounted in a watertight box to confine the containers and drainage board. A drain in the box recycles fluid or permits runoff.

The assembly also comprises a soil drain board upon which the containers are supported. The drain board defines a fluid permeable mat having pylons and a foraminous screen resting upon the mat. An impermeable liner rests within a box with the liner being interposed between the box and drainage board to confine the containers and drainage board. A drain in the liner recycles fluid or permits runoff.

  • Patent number: 5868120
Abstract: When a tank filler tube cap is closed, several flow paths having solenoid-operated valves are selectively operated by an engine management computer to control pressurizing of a bladder disposed in a fuel tank and of surrounding fuel vapor space not occupied by the bladder to attenuate fuel vapor generation. Venting of the bladder to atmosphere and of the vapor headspace to a canister are also controlled. The control further regulates the pressure in the bladder relative to that in the vapor headspace. On-board testing for leakage can be automatically accomplished for ascertaining compliance with relevant regulations. When the tank is to be re-fueled, a signal is sent to the computer.

  • Patent number: 5589240
Abstract: The assemblage consists of an in-ground assembly container 100 for plant propagation, formed of plastic strips 112 joined together to form, when compressed, a honeycomb configuration of container cells 110. Each cell is used to grow individual types of trees or plants. Walls of the cells are respectively embossed to enhance containment of potting soil. By combining the honeycomb container cells 110 with a pervious mat 120 and an impervious supporting liner 130, applied nutrients and water will not escape into the ground soil except by controlled pipe drainage 140. This combination will thus allow for total water and nutrient recirculation back through the system. The outlay includes a PVC liner 130, an optional drainage layer 120 and weed control fabric 122.

  • Patent number: 4143187
Abstract: An improved process for coating sheet substrates with thermoplastic polymer is disclosed. In the process the sheet substrate forms one die lip of the extrusion coating die. The sheet substrate is passed from face-to-face contact with the metal block of the extrusion coating die into a spaced apart relationship with one die lip of the extrusion coating die, the sheet substrate forming the second die lip. Molten thermoplastic polymer is extruded into the space between the one die lip and the sheet substrate, thereby coating the sheet substrate with polymer. The preferred polymer is a poly-.alpha.-olefin, especially polyethylene or a copolymer of ethylene and butene-1. The preferred sheet substrate has orifices in the surfaces thereof. The process may be used to coat sheet substrates with a thermoplastic polymer, e.g. in the manufacture of form boards for the construction industry.
