  • Publication number: 20230061661
Abstract: A fluid analyzer (214) that analyzes a sample (12) includes an analyzer frame (236); a test cell assembly (242) that receives the sample (12); a laser assembly (238) that generates a laser beam (239A) a signal detector assembly (232) and a self-check assembly (230). The self-check assembly (230) includes (i) a check frame (230A); (ii) a check substance (230E) with known spectral characteristics; and (iii) a check frame mover (230B) that selectively moves the check frame (230A) between a self-check position (231 B) and a test position (231 A) relative to the analyzer frame (236). In the self-check position (231 B), the laser beam (239A) is directed through the check substance (230E) to evaluate the performance of the fluid analyzer (214). In the test position (231 A), the laser beam (239A) is directed through the sample (12) in the test cell assembly (242) to evaluate the sample (12).

  • Publication number: 20230049459
Abstract: An assembly (10) for generating a laser beam (12) includes a beam steering assembly (18); a laser assembly (16) that is tunable over a tunable range; and a controller (20). The laser assembly (16) generates a laser beam (12) that is directed at the beam steering assembly (18). The controller (20) dynamically controls the beam steering assembly (18) to dynamically steer the laser beam (12) as the laser assembly (16) is tuned over at least a portion of the tunable range. As a result thereof, the laser beam (12) is actively steered along a desired beam path (12A) while the wavelength of the laser beam (12) is varied.

  • Publication number: 20060170944
Abstract: System and method for rasterizing and encoding multi-region data. In one aspect, a rasterizer derives descriptive information from print data stream (PDS) data, where the descriptive information includes a designation of at least one region of text data in the PDS data, and bitmap data depicting the region of text data. The bitmap data is provided to an encoder without including the bitmap data in a rasterized page bitmap of the PDS data, and the bitmap data is encoded into compressed data using the encoder and a compression format suitable for text data.

  • Patent number: 6765446
Abstract: A frequency lock loop has a reloadable N counter that counts cycles of an output frequency during one cycle of a reference frequency. A VCO generates the output frequency. A VCO control drives the VCO based on the count from the counter. The VCO control may include a latch for latching the count at each reference frequency cycle. The VCO control may include a VCO driver, such as a D/A converter or proportional charge pump, connected to a voltage control as input to the VCO. The counter may be reloaded with the integer N value at each cycle of the reference frequency. The counter may decrement from the integer value at each cycle of the output frequency. A lock may occur at N times the reference frequency without regard to phase between output and reference frequencies.

  • Patent number: 5925120
Abstract: A system and method is provided in a self-contained high speed repeater/LUN converter that allows for up to fifty-six devices to be connected to a narrow host SCSI bus via a local SCSI bus, where there does not have to be any modification of the devices on the local SCSI bus in terms of the SCSI interface. The host side of the converter supports either a single-ended or a differential SCSI bus. The converter controls all SCSI operations between the host SCSI bus and the local SCSI bus by means of a Corona device and a controller, where Corona controls all of the physical SCSI signals and the controller provides the capability to detect and respond to SCSI error conditions. The controller also selects the operation mode (LUN or repeater), board addresses, host bus type (single-ended or differential) selection, LUN/SCSI address mapping, and data mode (asynchronous, synchronous or fast synchronous) conversion.
