    Abstract: A head-up display (HUD) is disclosed. The HUD is on board a rotary wing aircraft. The HUD comprises a projector. The HUD also comprises a combiner. The combiner enables viewing of the world outside of the combiner and allows viewing of information provided from the projector. Further, the HUD comprises a computer coupled to the projector in providing hover and touchdown symbols conformally mapped onto the combiner. A conformal mapping of hover and touchdown symbols is also provided on the combiner.
