  • Patent number: 11820940
Abstract: Provided are extraction methods and systems to remove contaminants in a subterranean formation. The method of contaminant removal comprises introducing one or more organic acids and one or more organic acid surfactant boosters into a hydrocarbon-containing stream, recovering the hydrocarbon-containing stream from a subterranean formation, and separating at least a portion of the contaminants from the hydrocarbon-containing stream. The organic acids and the organic acid surfactant boosters have a synergistic effect that improves the contaminant removal efficacy of the organic acid.

  • Publication number: 20230271111
Abstract: A method may include: introducing a treatment fluid into a production fluid disposed in a surface well system, the treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid; and a supramolecular host guest product comprising: a treatment fluid additive comprising a surfactant; and a supramolecular host molecule, wherein the supramolecular host molecule is not covalently bonded to the treatment fluid additive; introducing the production fluid containing the treatment fluid into a production facility separator; and separating, in the production facility separator, at least a portion of the production fluid to form a water stream.

  • Patent number: 11566168
Abstract: A biocide blend can be used in an oil or gas operation. The biocide blend can include a first biocide of a formaldehyde-releasing biocide and a second biocide of a quaternary ammonium compound. The formaldehyde-releasing biocide can release formaldehyde after introduction into a wellbore. The first and second biocide can possess at least one property that is the same. The first biocide and/or the second biocide can maintain biocidal activity for extended periods of time in high salinity wellbore fluids, be thermally stable, and less expensive than other biocides.

  • Publication number: 20200283678
Abstract: A method may comprise introducing a first traceable solid particulate into a first formation zone of one or more subterranean formations, wherein the first traceable solid particulate may comprise a first soluble tracer coated onto a first solid particulate. The method may also comprise introducing a second traceable solid particulate into a second formation zone of the one or more subterranean formations, wherein the second traceable solid particulate may comprise a second soluble tracer coated onto a second solid particulate, wherein the second tracer and the first tracer may have a different chemical identity. The method may further comprise recovering produced fluid from the one or more subterranean formations and monitoring concentrations of at least the first soluble tracer and the second soluble tracer in the produced fluid.
