  • Patent number: 4821980
Abstract: A strut for mounting an engine and isolating the vibration of the engine from the framework of an aircraft to which it is attached. An engine mounting strut (32) includes a forward spar (40), which extends outwardly from a rib (34) of an aircraft (20). An aft spar (62) similarly extends outward from a rib (38) and is pivotally connected to a box beam (42) in a vibration isolation mount (78). The pivotal axis of mount (78) is generally aligned with the longitudinal axis of the box beam. A vibration isolation arm (44) extends from a pivotal connection (82) having an axis generally orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the box beam and is connected to the forward spar at two spaced-apart vibration isolation mounts (46 and 84). The spars are enclosed with an aerodynamic skin (56) forming a torque box 48, to which are attached forward and aft fairings (58).

  • Patent number: 4786094
Abstract: A clip mounting structure is provided which is attachable to a vehicle body without use of fixtures. This is done by initially providing the mounting structure with spacer tabs. The spacer tabs are positioned with respect to an available reference location, such as another previously mounted molding or panel. The tabs are break-away structures and are removed after the mounting structure is secured in place. The clip mounting structure is then used to secure a molding in place.

  • Patent number: 4736981
Abstract: An applique structure for the external B pillar areas of a four door vehicle is provided. The vehicle structure is one wherein the pair of doors on each side are hingedly mounted at the forward edges and wherein the B pillar areas are defined by the upper door edges. The appliques are adhered to the B pillar area and form a double seal at the juncture therebetween. Additional seals are provided around the periphery of the appliques.

  • Patent number: 4699420
Abstract: A preformed ornamental cap of the type commonly referred to as a vinyl roof is provided for mounting on the roof of a vehicle. The cap, which has a top wall, side walls and a rear wall, is fixedly mounted to the vehicle in the areas of the top top and side walls. The rear wall of the cap is provided with tongues which engage U-shaped spring clips on the vehicle body for securement of the cap rear wall to the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4629232
Abstract: A spring mounted molding is provided for a vehicle on the body adjacent to a wrap-around end portion of the bumper. The molding and end portion of the bumper have mating cam surfaces. When the bumper moves towards the vehicle upon impact, the mating camming surfaces interact causing the molding to be deflected outwardly and the end portion of the bumper to slide therebeneath thus avoiding damage to the parts. Upon retraction of the bumper to its normal position, the spring mounting causes the molding to return to its normal position lying against the body of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4599941
Abstract: Crushing apparatus for crushing containers which includes a tray on which the container is received and which can be positioned along side the housing of a crushing unit. A wiper panel is operated to move the container off the tray and into the crushing unit and onto a lower crushing platen. An upper crushing platen is then stroked down to crush the container. Following crushing, the lower platen is slid away from the crushing unit housing and the crushed container falls to a collection location.
