Patent number: 7382860Abstract: A novel image capture device, system and method are disclosed for use in capturing dental images. A novel collimator tube includes one or more devices integrated within its wall, such as a radio frequency transmitter, a camera, a frame grabber, or a transilluminator light. The integrated devices are used instead of or in addition to an x-ray generator, which is coupled to the collimator tube. The camera is used to capture digital images. The camera is either a camera port for plugging in an external camera, such as an intra-oral camera, or is wholly contained within the collimator tube. The radio frequency transmitter transmits digital data to a remote computer. The frame grabber captures digital data for display on a display device. The transilluminator light can illuminate an area for digital capture. A novel receptor holder includes a docking port for docking a sensor that is used for digital x-ray capture.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2006Date of Patent: June 3, 2008Assignee: Interactive Diagnostic Imaging, Inc.Inventors: Michael R Razzano, Ronald C Webb, Barry R Margraf

Patent number: 7360948Abstract: A novel image capture device, system and method are disclosed for use in capturing dental images. One or more devices are integrated within one or more components of the system. Examples of such devices include a radio frequency transmitter, a wireless receiver, a camera, a frame grabber, a beeper, indicator light system, or a transilluminator light. A novel collimator tube insert includes one or more integrated devices. A novel receptor holder includes a docking port for docking a sensor that is used for digital x-ray capture. A novel receptor holder includes multiple arms to allow a holder bar to be positioned in multiple positions for capturing different image types. A novel receptor holder includes a measurement guide for measuring a distance from which an image was taken from a patient. A novel alignment ring includes a sensor port and/or a radio frequency transmitter for transmitting data to other devices.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 2005Date of Patent: April 22, 2008Assignee: Interactive Diagnostics Imaging, Inc.Inventors: Michael R. Patent number: 4540365Abstract: A hand-held dental cleansing system for delivery of an abrasive laden stream against a tooth which is to be cleaned. The system is adapted to be coupled to sources of pressurized liquid and gas, and includes handpiece having a canister containing the abrasive material. Through various valves on the handpiece controlling the liquid and gas streams, the abrasive material is transported from the canister to a mixing chamber within a nozzle on the handpiece. The liquid or gas streams may be combined with the abrasive laden stream within the mixing chamber so as to result in a homogenous stream delivered to a single point on the tooth being cleaned. The canister, mixing chamber and connecting conduit may be constructed as a single unit adapted for easy removal and replacement by a fresh unit.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 1983Date of Patent: September 10, 1985Assignee: Advanced Design CorporationInventors: Edwin A. Patent number: 4475768Abstract: A seat member to support a human body and having upper and lower planar surfaces spaced apart and connected by a continuous sidewall extending perpendicularly between and connected to the peripheries of said surfaces, and a plurality of similar covers respectively of different colors and/or textures are provided for selection of one to be attached to the seat member to provide a desired outer finished surface on said seat member. The covers have an upper and side panels complementary to the top surface and sidewall of the seat member to conform closely thereto and a bottom panel on said covers is formed to provide a plurality of attaching fingers to overlie the lower surface of the seat member. The fingers are attached to the lower surface of the seat member by strips of VELCRO or the like to maintain the selected cover upon the seat member.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 1982Date of Patent: October 9, 1984Assignee: Dentsply Research & Development Corp.Inventor: Ronald C. Patent number: 3948559Abstract: A chair of the type particularly adapted for use by dentists, ophthalmologists and the like but also useful for other purposes in which a back is pivoted relative to a seat and a leg rests extends outward from the seat. The seat with the back pivotally connected thereto is adapted to be moved about a vertical axis from a position in which the front to back axis of the seat is disposed in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the leg rest which projects laterally outward from one side of the base and a position in which said axis of the seat is transverse to said longitudinal axis of the leg rest in order to facilitate the seating of a person in the chair while the seat is in the latter position and then rotating the seat 90.degree. to permit the person to dispose his legs upon the leg rest which preferably is stationary relative to the base of the chair.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 1975Date of Patent: April 6, 1976Assignee: Dentsply Research & Development CorporationInventors: Larry A.
