  • Publication number: 20110244981
Abstract: An illuminatable ball includes a sealed outer translucent shell, an inner core portion surrounded by the outer shell and a self-contained lighting device contained at least in part within the inner core portion. The lighting device includes an energy source, at least one lighting element, and an electrical circuit including a wireless receiver. The receiver receives a signal from a transmitter and provides a signal to a control circuit to switch the at least one lighting element between a deenergized state and an energized state by providing electrical energy from the energy source to the at least one lighting element. A wireless remote transmitter provides the signal to the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20090166595
Abstract: A chemiluminescent formulation includes an oxalate solution including a dye and an activator solution including polyethylene oxide. The oxalate solution and the activator solution are mixed to form a chemiluminescent mixture. Chemiluminescent energy in the form of light is emitted after mixing. The polyethylene oxide substantially increases the light output from the chemiluminescent mixture compared to a non-polyethylene oxide containing formulation.

  • Publication number: 20070247843
Abstract: A surface supported area lighting media assembly device comprises an illumination device to provide light of selected colors including white light by means of a chemiluminescent light emitting element or an LED light emitting assembly element and a reusable support element. The support element is configured for insertion into a support surface in a desired support orientation surface and includes a surface insertion spike and a stick receiving portion. The chemiluminescent element or LED element and the support element releasably engage one another to support the chemiluminescent element or LED element in the desired orientation when the support element is inserted into the support surface. The chemiluminescent element or LED element can be disengaged from the support element for replacing the chemiluminescent element or the LED element.

  • Publication number: 20070200998
Abstract: Illuminated novelty eye glasses include a frame having a body with portions that define lens openings and adjacent hinge regions, and a bridge region between the portions defining the lens openings. The body has a channel formed therein traversing around the lens openings and across the bridge region. The body is formed from a transparent or translucent material. Ear pieces are connected to the frame at the hinge regions. The ear pieces each have a hinge region for hingedly connecting the ear pieces to the body such that the ear pieces fold inwardly toward the body. The ear pieces each include a compartment and a channel extending generally from the compartment to the hinge region. An LED assembly is formed from a plurality of light emitting diodes mounted to a plurality of conductors. A power source is operably connected to the LED assembly and is carried in one of the ear piece compartments and a switch operably connects the power source to the LED assembly and is carried in the other ear piece compartment.

  • Patent number: 7244045
Abstract: An illuminated novelty device includes a plurality of light emitting diodes (LEDs). An elongated light bar can be mounted to each of the LEDs. The light bars have a light receiving end and a light emitting end and are mounted to respective LEDs at the light receiving end. The light bars are formed from a light transmissive material. Conductors extend between and connect the LEDs. The LEDs are spaced from one another along the length of the conductors. The LEDs, the elongated light bars and the conductors define an LED assembly. A power source is operably connected to the LED assembly and a switch is operably connected between the power source and the LED assembly. The power source and switch are maintained in a housing. A light transmissive sheath has the LED assembly fitted, at least in part, within it. The sheath has a first end mounted to the housing and a second free end.
