  • Publication number: 20190298911
Abstract: A method for administering successive dosages of a medical fluid from a fluid injection device to a patient via an IV set during a medical procedure comprising: obtaining an IV set having a primary flow line defining a primary fluid path, and an access point defining an access port; establishing a fluid connection with a primary fluid in a fluid source with the primary fluid path; connecting a fluid injection device (e.g., syringe) to an unidirectional access port assembly comprising an anti-backflow device; injecting a first dosage of a secondary fluid (medication) from the fluid injection device into through an anti-backflow device (e.g., one-way check valve) and into the primary fluid path; maintaining the connection of the fluid injection device to the unidirectional access port assembly; and injecting a second dosage, or n number of additional dosages, of the secondary fluid through the anti-backflow device. Associated devices and systems are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20090179046
Abstract: A pressurizable fluid delivery system for a flexible fluid reservoir includes a pressurizable sleeve disposable about the flexible fluid reservoir. The pressurizable sleeve has a pressure chamber that at least partially surrounds the flexible fluid reservoir when the pressurizable sleeve is disposed about the flexible reservoir. A pressure inducer is operably coupled to an inlet of the pressure chamber to pressurize the pressure chamber. The pressurized pressure chamber presses against the at least partially surrounded flexible fluid reservoir to push fluid in the flexible fluid reservoir toward the outlet. The fluid deliver system also includes a valve operatively coupled to the outlet of the flexible fluid reservoir to selectively release fluid from the flexible fluid reservoir.

  • Patent number: 5490756
Abstract: A device for the lifting, manipulation and transport of heavy rolls of material from shipping containers to/and from production apparatus is disclosed. The device has a mandrel which grips rolled stock at the roll core by means of expansion inside the roll core, and manipulates the rolled stock from its shipping position to a position suitable for placement on the mandrel of equipment to utilize the rolled stock. The device allows for transport of the rolled stock from shipping or storage locations to machinery for use. The device is capable of straddling shipping pallets and the like to allow for positioning the mandrel over the rolled stock while maintaining a relatively low center of gravity. Attached to the vertical lift plate is a second plate which is capable of sideways movement of the rolled stock and the mandrel for horizontal positioning. Primary energy sources are provided by electrically powered hydraulics or manually actuated hydraulics, winches, or lead screws.
