  • Publication number: 20160107167
Abstract: An aggregate accelerator for sorting a material such as coal from rock is presented. The accelerator includes a housing, a grizzly, a flail assembly, an impact grate assembly and lower grate(s). The grizzly allows material of a certain size to pass through the grizzly. The flail assembly has independent paddles configured to spin generally adjacent and co-planer due to centrifugal force and hit material to be separated from rock. The impact grate assembly receives and further breaks material hit by the flail assembly. The lower grate(s) allow material of a predetermined size to pass through the lower grate(s) to be collected. The lower grate(s) do not allow material larger than the predetermined size to pass through the lower grate(s) so that this material can be discarded.

  • Publication number: 20160107166
Abstract: A mobile coal processing unit can be loaded onto a truck and driven to an actual coal mine to break and sort coal. Once at the coal mine the mobile coal processing machine can self-propel itself to a desired location where it is to process coal. While at that location portions of the mobile coal processing machine that were folded and/or compressed for transportation are unfolded and/or uncompressed to make the mobile coal processing unit operational. The mobile coal processing unit includes a coal breaker to break mined coal into smaller pieces. It further includes a sorting device adapted to sort the smaller pieces and other mined coal into first size coal with a first size range and a second size coal with a second size range that is larger than the first size range.

  • Publication number: 20160107168
Abstract: An apparatus for sorting a material such as coal from rock is presented. The system includes a housing, a grizzly, a flail, an impact grate and lower grate(s). The grizzly allows small pieces of material to pass through the grizzly. The grizzly includes elongated grizzly bars that are wider at their upper ends than lower ends so that tapered openings formed between the grizzly bars are wider at the lower ends than the upper ends. The flail has paddles that spin and break material not passing through the grizzly. The impact grate receives and further breaks material hit by the flail. Lower grate(s) allow material of a predetermined size to pass through them to be collected for further use while at the same time not allowing material bigger than the predetermined size to past through them so that this unwanted material can be disposed of.

  • Patent number: 9277738
Abstract: A device for determining tension in or on a line, including a housing mountable to a surface, an idler and a traveler sheave rotatably mounted on the housing, and a scale operatively engaged with the traveler sheave. A block and slot are provided on the housing. A spring disposed between the block and a portion of the housing is compressed when the block moves in a first direction and is released when the block moves in a second direction. The traveler sheave and an indicator are mounted on the block and move in unison therewith. The sheaves are aligned along the same plane and the block moves in a plane substantially parallel to the plane in which the sheaves are disposed. Markings are provided on the housing and the indicator aligns with one of these markings to indicate the tension applied to the line.

  • Publication number: 20100001110
Abstract: A material breaker for breaking larger lumps of material into smaller pieces. The breaker includes at least a first, second and third processing region arranged in series. Each of the processing regions includes an inclined scalping grizzly, a rotor and an impact grid. Large lumps of material move down the scalping grizzly, are engaged by the rotor and accelerated toward the impact grid where they are fractured. The scalping grizzlies and impact grids have openings therein through which pieces of a predetermined desired size and smaller may pass without further engagement in the breaking process. The rotor speeds are sufficiently low enough to enable the larger lumps of desirable material to break into the predetermined size without producing excessive particulates or generating large quantities of dust.
