  • Patent number: 6885858
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for operating a billing system for billing for services provided by a service provider and/or for transmissions of service data via a terminal used by a subscriber using a communication network, where the service provider is arranged outside the communication network, and the billing system accesses subscriber profile data stored in a home location register in the communication network. Access to the subscriber profile data is followed by use thereof to ascertain the TCP/IP address of an account server which manages an electronic credit belonging to the subscriber. The invention also shows a billing system for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 6850756
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for charging for telecommunications links in a communications network. When a setup request for a communications link which is directed to a communications terminal and incurs a charge for a charge account associated with the communications terminal is deleted, a network node in the communications network performs sequences for setting up the communications link and forwarding sequences for setting up a forwarding communications link. To bill telecommunication charges securely and reliably at all times, even in the course of roaming, forwarding information is stored in a memory network node in the communications network during the forwarding sequences. Debiting of communication charges for the communications link from the charge account associated with the communications terminal is prevented if the memory network node stores the forwarding information.

  • Publication number: 20020098856
Abstract: A method and system for sending out short messages from a mobile terminal in a mobile radio network, wherein the incoming/outgoing CAMEL application part interaction is suppressed at the mobile switching center, but the short message is processed in an IN-related manner at the short message service center. In the mobile originating (transmitting) case, the mobile switching center takes from the short message service the calling party address, and in the mobile terminating (receiving) case it takes the called party address and sends it, together with a transmitting/receiving indication, to the home location register of the terminal via an unstructured supplementary service data string.
