  • Patent number: 8190145
Abstract: A radio frequency (RF) coverage server for use in a wireless network comprising base stations that communicate with mobile stations located in a coverage area of the wireless network. The RF coverage server receives from the mobile stations geographic location data indicating positions of the mobile stations when communication links to the wireless network were dropped. The RF coverage server identifies areas of good RF coverage and areas of poor RF coverage in the wireless network. The RF coverage server also identifies a first one of the mobile stations that frequently drops communication links to the wireless network when the first mobile station is disposed in the good RF coverage areas.

  • Publication number: 20090006628
Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for controlling the presentation of dynamic information to mobile devices. In one example, the method includes receiving status information from a mobile device indicating that the mobile device is available to receive advertisement information and receiving device information from the mobile device identifying at least one device parameter of the mobile device. Advertising content to send to the mobile device is identified and access information for the advertising content is embedded in a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message that is send to the mobile device. The SIP message is generated based at least partly on the device information.

Abstract: A handset is provided. The handset comprises a buffer and a state table framework. The buffer is operable to accumulate a plurality of digital images and to provide the accumulated digital images to promote display on the handset. The state table framework is operable, when a wireless connection to a server is available, to receive at least some state table information from the server. The state table framework is further operable, when the wireless connection to the server is not available, to respond to an input and transition to a next state in the state table to promote display on the handset.

  • Patent number: 7266369
Abstract: There is disclosed a service provisioning system for use in a wireless network containing a group of base stations that communicate with mobile stations. The service provisioning system comprises: 1) a database for storing a service provisioning file comprising a mobile station service provisioning program in interpreted byte-code format; and 2) a provisioning controller coupled to the database that receives a notification indicating that a first mobile station is unprovisioned and, in response thereto retrieves the service provisioning file from the database and transmits the service provisioning file to the first mobile station. Receipt of the service provisioning file causes the mobile station to execute the mobile station service provisioning program in the service provisioning file. There also is disclosed a mobile station capable of being provisioned from a wireless network by an over-the-air (OTA) service provisioning process.

  • Patent number: 6741168
Abstract: A device within an automobile comprises or includes a wireless communications controller which, upon detection of impact, attempts to establish a wireless communications link to each of any counterpart wireless communications controllers which are within vehicles also subject to a recent impact, and therefore presumably involved in the collision. Vehicle identification information and information collected regarding the collision, such as vehicle speed, location, direction of travel, impact direction and magnitude, point of impact, etc., are automatically exchanged between vehicles involved in the collision and may be later retrieved from either vehicle, preserving objective information for accident reconstruction by police and insurance companies.

  • Publication number: 20040071109
Abstract: A telecommunications device and network that provides TCP/IP communications over the entire data path, thereby simplifying the software call stack needed for a wireless device or to communicate with the network. The device eliminates the upper layers (non-access-stratum) of the handset call stack. It reduces the role of the radio layer to just providing link layer services. Furthermore, the handset call stack communicates with session control and billing & authorization servers over a public network such as the internet. Further, the wireless devices, as well as base stations and other components, communicate with session servers and billing & authorization servers over a public network, such as the Internet, eliminating any need for dedicated private-network connection between these components.

  • Patent number: 4793526
Abstract: A paste dispenser comprising an elongated tubular body having a central bore for containing a paste product therein with a dispensing outlet positioned at one end portion of the tube, a follower plate movably disposed within the bore of the tubular body at one end portion thereof, defining an end portion for containing paste contained within the tube. The initial position of the plate is at an opposite end of the tube from the outlet when the tube is filled with paste, a transverse plate is positioned at the end portion of the tubular body adjacent the outlet, and a rotatable drum is mounted on the tubular body at the transverse plate. A pivotally moving support is mounted at one end portion of the tubular body providing a gripping surface which can be manually forced to move the pivot between first and second positions, and a biasing spring for urging the pivot to assume the first position combines with a ratchet for urging a rotation of the drum in one rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 4710724
Abstract: A differential input circuit for a switched capacitor CMOS voltage comparator is provided which minimizes offset voltages by configuring the load devices to utilize a single switched capacitor biasing network initialized from internally-generated bias voltages, while configuring the initialization switches for the differential input devices to also utilize internally-generated bias voltages such that the offset voltages are stored on the input capacitors. The power supply rejection performance of the voltage comparator is also optimized by connecting parallel load devices of opposite switching topology such that the same input impedance is seen at both load terminals.
