Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for end-user service provider selection in a network supporting one or more service providers connected to the network, including prompting an end-user for end-user information including a geographic location of the user; determining based on the end-user information whether the network provides service in the geographic location; displaying to the end-user a list of one or more service providers available to the end-user and supported by the network; providing means for contacting the one or more service providers available to the end-user; receiving service information from a service provider selected by the end-user from the list of the one or more service providers based on the means for contacting the one or more service providers; and providing service via the selected service provider on the network to the end-user based on the received service information.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for an end-user of an open access high-speed network for providing broadband data transport services to select a new service provider as a replacement for a current service provider that is no longer a customer of an operator of a high-speed network providing connectivity between end-users and a plurality of service providers providing services on a common network such as the Internet. A digital repository is populated with information regarding the end-users and their service providers. End-users subscribing to a discontinued service provider are redirected to a service provider selection user interface upon accessing the open access high-speed network.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for an irrevocable right to use (IRU) registration process in a network supporting one or more IRU service providers connected to the network, including performing one of the following sets of steps: (a) performing an end-user login process for a modem communicating on an upstream frequency corresponding to the network, storing an address of the modem and reporting the modem address to an IRU service provider which is to provide IRU service to the modem; and (b) redirecting a modem, communicating on an upstream frequency corresponding to an IRU service provider which is to provide IRU service to the modem, to an end-user login process for the network, storing an address of the modem and reporting the modem address to the IRU service provider.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system and computer program product for dynamic quality of service (QoS) provisioning, including receiving from a service provider a generated provisioning event requesting a minimum QoS for a modem based upon a level of service purchased by an end-user from the service provider in all cases; determining whether or not the provisioning event is a time-limited provisioning event; and performing one of the following steps: (a) transmitting a configuration file allowing the modem to operate at least at the minimum QoS, if it is determined that the provisioning event is not a time-limited provisioning event or if it is determined that the provisioning event is a time-limited provisioning event that has not yet expired, and (b) transmitting a configuration file restoring the modem to operate at a previous QoS, if it is determined that the provisioning event is a time-limited provisioning event that has expired.
