  • Patent number: 4735168
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a lining material to a conduit comprises an elongate flexible pipe for lining material. A dispensing nozzle is provided at one end of the pipe and the other end of the pipe is squeezed between a pair of driven rollers to expel the lining material through the dispensing nozzle as the pipe is drawn through the conduit. A pair of circular steel wire brushes are mounted on the pipe below the dispensing nozzle center the pipe in the conduit and also clean the side wall of the conduit ahead of the nozzle. The cross-sectional area of the pipe is calculated so that as the pipe is pulled back down the conduit it deposits an evenly distributed, predetermined amount of lining material on the side wall of the conduit.

  • Patent number: 4630415
Abstract: A fire stop for sealing the space between a flue pipe and the periphery of an opening in a floor through which the flue pipe passes comprises a collar having a bore for sealable engagement with the flue pipe. Portion of the outer periphery of the collar tapers in an axial direction for sealing engagement with a correspondingly tapered periphery of the opening. The collar is formed from two collar segments which are pre-fabricated from a fibre reinforced cementitious material which is selected so that the density of the material of the collar is similar to the density of the floor. Each segment extends into the space above the floor. A heating dissipating fin extends radially from the outer periphery of the collar above the opening. In the event of a fire in the flue the collar rises on its taper maintaining sealing engagement with the periphery of the opening and dissipating heat into the heat sink formed by the floor and into the ambient air above the floor.

  • Patent number: 4205919
Abstract: A mixer especially for mixing materials such as cement and sand with water and with a fibrous reinforcing material such as glass fibre. The mixer consists of a tubular casing containing a skeletal rotor constructed from a plurality of rods extending longitudinally of the casing and spaced apart laterally of each other at positions circumferentially spaced apart around the axis of rotation of the rotor and the longitudinal axis of the casing. The rods are supported on end plates and a central shaft or stub shafts extending from the end plates. The rods are enveloped along at least part of the axial length of the rotor by a helical, outwardly-directed flight having widely-spaced convolutions to impart a component of movement to the mix along the inside of the tubular casing to an outlet.
